Ben Affleck's Batman brutally beats up the Joker in this piece of DCEU fan art. Though he was a controversial casting pick at first, Affleck's depiction of Batman has become a favorite among fans. He first stepped into the part for 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and went on to appear in two other DCEU features (including Suicide Squad, which amounted to a quick cameo). While Affleck once planned to direct and star in his own solo Batman movie, he later stepped away from the franchise, and Robert Pattinson was brought in to take the leading role in The Batman.

It looked like Affleck had hung up the cowl for good, so fans were pleasantly surprised by the news that he will once again play Batman in the upcoming Flash movie. Where he will go beyond that remains to be seen, though many would still like to see him bring that solo movie to life. Others hope to see him go toe to toe with Jared Leto's Joker, perhaps in Zack Snyder's Justice League. The two faced off briefly in Suicide Squad, but there's a deeper history that has yet to be explored.

A new piece of fan art from datrinti seemingly imagines that history in all its bloody glory, as it sees Affleck's Batman beating Leto's Joker. The dark image could easily fit in with Zack Snyder's gritty DCEU, and though it remains to be seen if it could ever come to life on the big screen, it's an interesting scenario to imagine via art. Check out the piece down below.

Fans were equally shocked to learn Leto had shot scenes for the Justice League Snyder Cut last year, and the expectation is that he will appear opposite Affleck. Little is known about Joker's role in Justice League, but it's estimated it won't be a very large one. Nevertheless, it would be exciting to see more of his twisted relationship with Batman, since there is so much left to explore. In fact, there's a very good chance their interaction could look like the above fan art.

Justice League is expected to arrive on HBO Max in March, so it won't be much longer before fans get all their answers about the Joker's role and how it impacts Batman. Beyond that, it's unclear if there could be a broader DCEU future for the villain. When it comes to Affleck's Batman, any future projects might depend on how The Flash pans out. It currently seems unlikely that his solo movie will come to pass, but fans likely won't give up hope just yet. At this point, anything could happen.
