LEGO is gearing up to release a new set featuring Christian Bale's incarnation of Batman, from Batman Begins, recreating the iconic Tumbler and the terrifying scene where a fear-toxin induced Scarecrow sees a nightmarish vision of the hero. The new movie-based set will release in Fall 2021 as part of the LEGO DC line. This follows recent Batmobile sets such as Adam West's Batmobile from the 60s Batman TV series, and Tim Burton's Batmobile from 1989's Batman.

The LEGO Group launched the DC Super Heroes line in 2011 with a large focus on Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman, as most of the first wave surrounded the Caped Crusader's vehicles and rogues gallery. The line has since expanded, taking inspiration from the wider comics mythos and various DC movies, such as Man of Steel, Batman VS Superman: Dawn of Justice, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman. More recently, the line has taken inspiration from past movie releases, such as Tim Burton's iconic Batmobile of the 1989 film, as well as the Batwing and Adam West's Batcave. Following these blasts from the past, LEGO is ready to tackle another beloved take on the Dark Knight.

Set for release on October 1st, LEGO has listed the LEGO DC Batman Batmobile Tumbler: Scarecrow Showdown on their Shop at Home website. The set features a buildable model of the Tumbler from Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, complete with rotating wheels, stud shooters, and a removable roof to place Batman at the wheel. The set comes with two minifigures, Christian Bale's Batman and Cillian Murphy's Scarecrow, as well as a number of accessories including a Batarang, grapnel gun, and an alternate head to recreate Scarecrow's nightmare Batman vision. The set will retail for $39.99 USD. Check out the set in the photos below:

Despite The LEGO Batman Movie unlikely to have a sequel due to film rights issues, the partnership between DC Comics and the world-renowned toy brand remains strong. The LEGO DC Batman Batmobile Tumbler: Scarecrow Showdown is the fifth set to take inspiration from Christopher Nolan's trilogy. A set released in 2008 called The Tumbler: Joker's Ice Cream Surprise was inspired by the then released The Dark Knight, followed by The Dark Knight Rises, which inspired The Bat VS Bane: Tumbler Chase in 2014 that featured minifigures of Bale's Batman, Tom Hardy's Bane and Gary Oldman's Commissioner Gordon. There have also been two large collector-oriented models of the Tumbler, the first released in 2014 and including a display stand featuring minifigures of Bale's Batman once more, as well as Heath Ledger's Joker, while an updated model will release this Fall alongside the Scarecrow Showdown.

While fans of LEGO Batman may be disappointed the Justice League-oriented sequel won't happen, at least they can now pick up other iconic on-screen representations of the hero in minifigure form. With the line now covering versions such as Affleck, Bale, Keaton, and West, who knows which actor will be immortalized in plastic next. No matter who's next, Batman Begins fans are sure to be satisfied with LEGO's latest offering.
