The latest set photo from The Batman features a sneaky Mr. Freeze Easter egg. After suffering multiple production delays, work on Matt Reeves' The Batman is underway once again. Fans got their first proper look at The Batman in August when Reeves debuted the teaser trailer at DC FanDome, and anticipation for the completed film is already quite high. Starring Robert Pattinson as the iconic hero, The Batman takes place within Bruce Wayne's second year as Gotham's vigilante as a string of murders terrorize the city. Similar to last year's Joker, The Batman is set within a different universe than the rest of the DCEU.

Nevertheless, eagle-eyed fans have noticed some pretty vital DC references on The Batman's set in recent days. From costumed extras dressed up like Superman and Wonder Woman to a familiar Flash symbol on a poster, The Batman appears to take place within a world where other DC characters exist. Whether this is because of DC Comics or because the heroes themselves are real people, it remains to be seen. Making things even more exciting is that a closer look at one of these references contains one more - this time for a notable Batman villain.

Fox 32 News anchor Jake Hamilton previously shared a picture where the Flash logo was on display on The Batman's set. However, it turns out another poster within the picture features an Easter egg for Victor Fries, or Mr. Freeze. The torn poster above the Flash logo says "Destroy GothCorp," which appears to be a reference to the company that ultimately created Mr. Freeze. What's more, the "A" on the poster looks like the symbol for the villain Anarky. Check it out down below.

In Batman: The Animated Series, Victor Fries worked at GothCorp and designed a freeze ray to preserve his sick wife in suspended animation. However, the meddling of GothCorp CEO Ferris Boyle led to the ray backfiring, killing Fries' wife and leaving him unable to survive outside of freezing temperatures. The phrase "Destroy GothCorp" certainly seems like a cause Mr. Freeze would champion, so could he exist within The Batman as well? At the very least, this can be a fun Easter egg for fans to discover, but it could also hint at where future Batman installments could go.

The Batman already features an impressive rogue's gallery, from Catwoman (Zoë Kravitz) and the Penguin (Colin Farrell) to the Riddler (Paul Dano) and Carmine Falcone (John Turturro). Reeves previously said not every well-known Batman villain featured in the film is in their fully formed state, suggesting The Batman will serve as something of an origin story for them. Fans are certainly excited to see what roles these antagonists will play, though they're also eager to see who could come after. Perhaps it'll be Mr. Freeze? Only time will tell.
