Warning! Spoilers for Nightwing #84 by DC Comics below

Barbara Gordon has just suited up as Batgirl once again and debuted her newest costume as the Fear State event is underway across the DC Universe. After seeing how Gotham City is being secretly torn apart by the Magistrate and an imposter Oracle hacked into her system, Barbara decided to take matters into her own hands - and is doing so in style as Batgirl.

In the comics, Barbara Gordon has played a dual role in the Bat-Family, as the hero Batgirl and their number one intel expert as Oracle. After being paralyzed from the waist down by the Joker, Gordon retired from being Batgirl but returned to the role after being able to walk again. Unfortunately, Gordon's isn't fully recovered, as experimental technology still holds her spine together, which has recently made her re-embrace the Oracle role. However, once hackers have turned her Oracle system into a system designed to spread misinformation, Barbara is suiting up to take the Magistrate head-on.

In Nightwing #84 by Tom Taylor, Robbi Rodriguez, Adriano Lucas, and Wes Abbott, the Bat-Family deals with the Magistrate's private police force's attempts to stop masked vigilantes in Gotham City. After taking on the Magistrate's soldiers in Gotham City, Nightwing meets with Barbara Gordon in her Clock Tower hideout. After finding out Nightwing was lured into the Magistrate's trap by the Anti-Oracle, Gordon tells Dick Grayson she needs to find a new solution to stopping them. Barbara tells Nightwing she's going with him despite his initial protests, but in a badass moment, Batgirl emerges and tells him, "this is my fight."

The costume, designed by Bruno Redondo, is stunning and extremely practical. The purple, black, and yellow suit not only looks good but has functionality that helps Batgirl as she takes the fight to the Magistrate. The suit is specifically designed to put less stress on her spine and features several built in-tech features, such as a cape capable of electrocuting her opponents. The new costume is a more mature version of her Batgirl of Burnside suit, one of her best looks ever. Aesthetically, it's a home run for a character who's had many different heroic looks.

If she can't help the Bat-Family as Oracle, Barbara Gordon will team up with Batman and Nightwing to take down the oppressive regime overtaking Gotham. Her new Batgirl costume is stunning, and it will be exciting to see her back in action in upcoming issues of Nightwing's Fear State arc. Nightwing #84 is in comic book stores now.
