A new DC villain for the canceled Batgirl movie has been revealed in behind-the-scenes images. The DCEU film was intended to introduce the titular character into the expanding superhero franchise with Michael Keaton reprising his role as Batman, since his two-film run in 1989 and 1992. Batgirl would have also seen the return of J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, a role his first played in Justice League. Unfortunately, the nearly-completed Batgirl movie was canceled in early August to the surprise of many.

Directed by Ms. Marvel and Bad Boys for Life's Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, Batgirl was intended to be released directly to HBO Max in late 2022. However, following Warner Bros.' merge with Discovery, many films and television shows have been removed from their slate and outright canceled. This includes Raised by Wolves, the Wonder Twins, The Flash CW series, J.J. Abrams' Demimonde, the Scoob! sequel, and Strange Adventures. Following Batgirl's sudden cancellation, heartbroken members of the cast and crew have shared multiple behind-the-scenes videos and photos, giving fans a glimpse of a film they would never get to see.

Now, Batgirl stunt performer, Jules Wallace, has taken to social media to give fans a first look at the film's version of the DC villain Killer Moth. Created in 1951, the character had no superpowers, relied on gimmicks, and wore a moth-themed costume. However, Wallace's images show a drastic redesign that kept Killer Moth's primary color of green in the form of a tracksuit and placed a tattoo of a moth on the villain's head. The performer also gave thanks to the cast and crew of Batgirl and shared an image with Commissioner Gordon's stunt double, Stevie. Check out Wallace's images below.

Although it is unknown who the primary actor hired to portray the character in the final film, Wallace's images give a clear look as to what Killer Moth would have looked like. Gone is the over-the-top outfit from his original comic book appearance. His costume has likely been changed to match the more realistic tone of the Batgirl and the DCEU. However, it is unclear if any of the character's gadgets or Mothmobile would have made it into the film.

Killer Moth is just one of a number of characters that may no longer have their chance to grace to the big screen in the DCEU thanks to Warner Bros.'s recent cancellations. Brendan Fraser's Firefly was set to make his theatrical debut as well but has now been unfortunately shelved indefinitely. As DCEU fans had previously made a successful push for Zack Snyder's Justice League to finally come out, perhaps one day Batgirl will be released for all to see.
