Warning: contains major spoilers for Batman: Wayne Family Adventures: Ep. 4!

The Bat-Family has been well-trained by their mentor, Batman. They're capable of holding their own against dangerous villains and using the tech that Batman has provided them. However, some members of the family insist on getting his tech on their own, instead of doing things the easy way.

Ep. 4, titled "Alert" has the creative team of StarBite, CRC Payne, Kielamel Sibal, Lan Ma, C. M. Cameron, and Camille Cruz. Batman receives an alert about the security of one of his safe houses. Initially, he believes that it must be the work of one of his major villains. Instead, when he arrives and investigates, he runs into one of his former Robins. Batman's own family has been stealing from him and Jason has absolutely no remorse about it.

Even after being found out, Jason plays it off like it's no big deal. However, this isn't the first  of Batman's safe houses that has been broken into and looted. He already lost four, without being alerted. None of the original alarms he set had been tripped. This led him to add a new alarm system, which proves fruitful since Jason had no idea he'd missed one. Given how long he was Robin and how intensive Batman's training is, it's no surprise that Jason would know how to get around his mentor's security measures. Not many people could steal from Batman successfully for as long as four months and not many would actually dare to.

Additionally notable is the way that Jason snatches up one quick item while running out of the safe house. Immediately after, Batman reveals that he has still been supplying Jason with his "latest gadgets every month." It doesn't seem like too much of a stretch to think that he does this for all his former wards. After all, they're out on the streets of Gotham doing their own patrols and crime-fighting, often teaming up with each other. The crazier aspect is that despite his eagerness to provide for them, they refuse to accept his assistance the way he offers it. Instead of asking for help, they'd much rather snatch things from under Batman's nose. It's a bold move and definitely one that is only slightly surprising when considering how scarred and skilled they all are.

Given all the challenges that Batman has thrown their way in training them, why would any of them think a free hand-out from him is legitimate? Furthermore, why would they be okay with it? Bruce often made them work to earn things. Now, they've taken that to the next level. Instead of simply asking for more equipment, the Bat-Family knows that one of the best challenges is to get the best of their mentor. Even with new measures being taken, Jason is unlikely to actually stop his exploitation of Batman's personal storages. It also seems possible that the others would be doing the same things, if for nothing more than a friendly competition amongst each other. The Bat-Family has some major quirks from their unorthodox upbringing, including stealing from Batman himself.
