Weddings have been altered due to the CoVID-19 pandemic, but Basketball Wives stars Cece Gutierrez and Byron Scott had no trouble tying the knot virtually on Saturday. Gutierrez, 47, and Scott, 59, both donned fancy masks for the occasion, in addition to their wedding attire.

The pair had a small private ceremony and set up a livestream. This allowed friends and family to share the reality TV couple's Say I Do-style ceremony from the safety and comfort of their homes. While the venue didn't feature friends and family, the couple was surrounded by beautiful white flowers. Pink petals lined the path down the aisle. Gutierrez addressed two particular family members via Instagram, writing: "On our special day I want to thank my mother and my brother for their amazing musical talents. It meant so much to us to have soprano vocalist (my mother) Edith Gutierrez sing our bridal song “Ave Maria”. The artist of our second wedding song was my brother Jay and it was titled “Rise Up” ❤️ it was perfect!"

The couple took to Instagram several times to share their nuptials and their wedding joy. In the previously mentioned Instagram post, in which Cece Gutierrez gives thanks to mother Edith and brother Jay, she also states: "Thank you for adding extra love to our special day!" The post is accompanied by several photos of the couple kissing and smiling. One photo shows the couple sharing champagne out of flutes etched with their names, as they stand next to their gorgeous wedding cake. In the same vein, Byron Scott posted "Me and the Mrs..." complete with more photos of the couple cutting their cake and dancing. They wore fancy masks: black with white embellishments for Scott and white with swirly white embellishments for Gutierrez. The registered nurse and reality TV star said "Yes to the Dress" with a strapless, mermaid-style bridal gown with a sweetheart neckline. The dress was made by Netta BenShabu. The gown featured lace details and plenty of tulle fabric. The three-time NBA Champion groom sported a slick black suit with a bowtie. He kept it classic with a white pocket square and corsage.

It comes as no shock that the couple wasn't willing to wait for their marriage to begin. Last month Scott posted their new date sharing photos on Instagram, writing "I can’t wait to make you my wife in our own private way on July 11, 2020 ❤️." In the same post, he shared how Gutierrez had responded to the nuptials being postponed, writing "You have been so strong, positive, and happy regardless...and that’s why I love you so much." He made sure to mention to friends and family that they would forever be a special part of their lives even if they couldn't physically be at the wedding. Scott wrote, "Thank you to all our loved ones who were supposed to be a part of our special day. You still and always will be a special part of our lives."

Despite the disappointment of having to cancel the big fancy celebration they dreamed of, the two pushed onward and decided they weren't going to let Covid-19 stand in the way of their love. While it may not have been everything they had hoped for their wedding day, they found a way to make it work. Virtual weddings are a new norm for 2020, as couples make the best of the pandemic situation. At the end of the day, what really matters is they have each other. In one of her many Instagram posts, Gutierrez stated "Today I married the love of my life, my best friend, my soulmate ..." Love thrives, even in a pandemic. Kudos and congratulations to these Basketball Wives stars.
