A recent set video from the upcoming Barbie movie shows its stars, Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, roller skating down Venice Beach. The highly anticipated comedy, directed by Greta Gerwig and based on Mattel's iconic fashion doll brand, is set to be released in theaters on July 21, 2023. Though much of its plot remains under wraps, it was revealed earlier this month that audiences can expect multiple versions of Barbie and Ken, with Robbie and Gosling portraying the two leads. Other members of Barbie's ensemble cast include America Ferrera, Simu Liu, Alexandra Shipp, Issa Rae, Ncuti Gatwa, Hari Nef, Michael Cera, Will Ferrell and many more.

When the news surrounding the film's ever-growing cast first came out, interest among audiences began increasing rapidly and now, with first look images and behind-the-scenes content getting shared online, Barbie has turned into one of next year's most talked about projects. Back in June, an official picture of Gosling's Ken attracted much attention, becoming a trending topic and the source of polarizing reactions. Since then, the movie has continued to spark conversation as set photos make their way to social media, revealing different characters and costumes, with some of the latest ones teasing Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling skating in bright neon outfits.

To add to the excitement those images generated, one Instagram user, ashleajctravels, happened to be at Venice Beach during filming and recently posted a video of the two stars roller skating for a scene. Though brief, the footage offers a glimpse of Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling in character and as noted in the caption, some of the lines are audible. With so many small previews of production being shared, there are already theories for the potential story of Barbie, but as Margot Robbie previously revealed, the film's goal is to challenge any sort of expectations. One thing that many of its cast members echo, though, is that the movie will be fun, and much of the content posted so far seems to support that idea. Back in May, Simu Liu described Barbie's aesthetic as "full of life" and compared working on the project to hanging out with friends. Other stars, like Issa Rae, Ncuti Gatwa, and Gosling himself have also shared how enjoyable the set of Barbie was.

Greta Gerwig's upcoming film is certainly on track to become a box office hit next year and with every new piece of information or sneak peek revealed, the anticipation continues to grow. With filming having wrapped this week, it might not be long before content featuring other characters, including a first trailer, gets released. Audiences excited for Barbie can look forward to more news as it comes out and make sure to see it when it hits theaters next summer.
