The first look at Ryan Gosling's Ken in the live-action Barbie movie has arrived. After decades of being an iconic toy line for Mattel, the Barbie brand is venturing to Hollywood like never before. There have been multiple attempts to make a live-action Barbie movie over the years, with Amy Schumer previously attached to lead a film. However, the project's changes in development led to Little Women director Greta Gerwig taking control and Margot Robbie becoming the new face of Barbie.
Despite some initial skepticism over what a Barbie movie could really be about, the updates that the project has received continued to change expectations. Gerwig and Robbie's involvement immediately made audiences begin to rethink what the movie will be, especially after the first look Barbie image of the Oscar-winning actress as the iconic doll surfaced online. Robbie's Barbie is surrounded by an incredibly talented cast too, such as Ryan Gosling as Ken, the character's usual love interest.

Following in the footsteps of the first image of Robbie as Barbie, the debut of Gosling's shirtless Ken portrayal is another excellent look at the movie. The almost all-pink design of the location he's standing in front of matches what was seen before. Meanwhile, the Ken-labeled underwear, all-jean apparel, bleach blonde hair, and muscular look of Ryan Gosling's Barbie character immediately provide an idea of what Ken will be like. There have been reports that Barbie features multiple versions of Barbie and Ken, so it will be fascinating to see if other versions of Ken have a similar design to them.
By all accounts, Barbie is two for two when it comes to revealing first look images of its main characters. While Robbie's Barbie and Gosling's Ken have not been shown together, it is easy to see how well they will work together. This should also continue to raise excitement for the potential photo reveals of Simu Liu, Alexandra Shipp, Issa Rae, Will Ferrell, Kate McKinnon, and the rest of Barbie's all-star cast. With the movie not set to debut in theaters for over a year, these types of photos might be the best looks at Barbie that Warner Bros. provides for quite some time.
