Larian Studios has consistently added more content to Baldur's Gate 3 since its early access launch last year, but with the upcoming addition of the Sorcerer class, players should ensure to play as a Druid at least once. Recent Patches to Baldur's Gate 3's Act One have revealed the ability for players to obtain class-specific milestones throughout its missions, and hopefully, this trend will continue. Druids hold a heavy presence in the first central conflict of Baldur's Gate 3, and Druid players can enjoy unique interactions still unavailable for other classes.

There are currently seven classes in Baldur's Gate 3: Druid, Warlock, Ranger, Fighter, Rogue, Cleric, and Wizard. Each class is continuously updated, balanced, and made unique throughout early access development, offering new dialogue, cutscenes, and combat styles. Baldur's Gate divides combat into several different types, including ranged, melee, and spellcasting. Druid is Baldur's Gate 3's newest class, and though spellcasting may not be everyone's preferred method of combat, players should use it for a playthrough at least once.

Players receive unique dialogue options and abilities that influence interactions available throughout Silvanus' Grove. As one of the sacred locations for Druid kind, Druid player characters are more attuned with the importance of the Grove. Their status as a Druid changes many characters' initial reactions and presents unique solutions to tense situations. Race and class are important choices in Baldur's Gate 3, but certain traits maintain dominance over others in conversations. Having access to Druidic Knowledge and abilities makes players and their parties privy to vital knowledge that enhances gameplay, roleplaying, and overall immersion.

Baldur's Gate 3 Gives Druids A Unique Title

After completing the questline within Silvanus Grove, Druids can obtain the Faithwarden title. This title may seem forgettable at first, but titles can play a large part in traditional Dungeons and Dragons games. The full extent of the party's journey is unknown, as is the game's overarching plot, but thankfully, the tabletop RPG's mechanics carry over quite effectively into gameplay. Additionally, receiving a title gives a character an undeniable level of recognition and influence, which could prove helpful upon reaching Baldur's Gate. As Faithwarden, Druid player characters in Baldur's Gate 3 enjoy a rank of prestige among their people, and receiving the title is an excellent roleplaying experience for dedicated players.

Some of the Druid's most coveted abilities are shapeshifting, and the Speak to Animals spell. Other classes (such as the Ranger) can learn the Speak to Animals spell, but suffer from more restrictive spell slots. Wild Shape, which can turn players into other creatures, currently features five different forms for players to enjoy. Turning into a bear, wolf, or cat offers advantages in battle and exploration while also giving conversational cutscenes an amusing twist of animals speaking to NPCs. Unfortunately, player levels are capped during Baldur's Gate 3's early access, meaning that the improvements of certain spells are also limited. Given the effectiveness of Wild Shape in earlier forms, players should probably spend time in other forms and decide if the Druid class is for them.

Baldur's Gate 3 employs some impressive character creation, enhancing a player's control over their identity in intuitive ways. The Druid is currently the newest addition to Baldur's Gate 3's class, though the Sorcerer class in Patch 6 is sure to draw attention away from its fellow spellcasting class. But before moving on to Sorcerer, players should experience some of the ins and outs of the Druid class, which is an interesting and nuanced addition to the game.
