The Director of Publishing for Larian Studios, Michael Douse, has revealed that new content for Baldur's Gate 3 will be unveiled to the public very soon. Baldur's Gate 3 has introduced a number of changes to the series' established formula, such as changing out the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons THAC0-style method of counting damage for a combat system in Baldur's Gate 3 which is much more modern, but it looks like even more brand-new content is on its way.

Recently, the creative director of Larian Studios, Swen Vincke, announced that Baldur's Gate characters from previous games in the franchise would be returning to Baldur's Gate 3 in "meaningful ways," and the game is also changing up the way players handle dialog options, although there are some who are worried that the strange past-tense phrasing of the game's choices break the immersion somewhat. However, with such long gaps in between games, players are simply just excited to be returning to the world of Baldur's Gate, and even the threat of COVID-19 coronavirus-related delays can't keep the game's publishing director from being excited about what they have coming for fans.

After a recent article published by The New York Times and written by Jason Schreier, which documented how the majority of game development across the world was slowing down due to the effects of the coronavirus, Douse took to Twitter to reassure fans that, even if a slew of articles arrive with the headline "Baldur's Gate 3 Development Slows Down," they still have a bunch of new stuff to show fans soon. "Like, actually new stuff," Douse clarifies. "Not 'old stock new stuff' we saved for a rainy pandemic." Check out his message to Baldur's Gate 3 fans, along with Schreier's response, below:

It's been reported that Baldur's Gate 3 is still on track to release in early access later this year, and judging from Douse's tweets above it appears like there are a number of new things players should be looking forward to. Just what exactly that "new stuff" is, however, hasn't been revealed... yet.

Baldur's Gate 3 is a game which inspires all kinds of different feelings and playstyles from gamers. Some players are looking for the ultimate Dungeons & Dragons experience, some are looking for a way to save scum their way to victory, and others are simply hoping to see the conclusion of a story which began decades ago. From everything players have seen so far, it looks like Baldur's Gate 3 is going to live up to their expectations, and players will be able to learn even more new things about it soon.
