The new episode of Whistle Sports’ Bad Joke Telling welcomes three members of the cast of NBC’s new comedy Champions to see who among them can withhold their laughter while telling some truly awful jokes. It’s the second episode of the online series’ third season, coming in just a week after the Broken Lizard crew showed up to promote the release of Super Troopers 2, and as expected the jokes are cringe worthy, but Anders Holm, Fortune Feimster, and Andy Favreau are game to see if they can make each other laugh.

The internet is filled with no end of specified offerings, and for those scouring the web looking for a quick and easy laugh, Bad Joke Telling may have what you’re looking for. The series has capitalized on a solid formula: thing are somehow funnier when you’re trying not to laugh. It’s a simple premise, one that Whistle Sports has turned into a small cottage industry by getting familiar faces from film, television, and professional sports to take part in a very silly challenge.

If you’re unfamiliar with Whistle Sports of Bad Joke Telling check out a synopsis of the online series below:

“New episodes will air weekly on Mondays on Whistle Sports’ YouTube channel. The episodes will also be available on the Bad Joke Telling show page on Facebook Watch shortly after they run on YouTube. The semi-scripted comedic digital short puts stars face to face, both armed with a slew of corny, but funny jokes. Two players enter, and the first one to laugh loses!”

The rules are fairly straightforward: two contestants enter a dark stage, exchange bad jokes and the first to laugh is sent packing. In this episode, the cast of Champions takes part, and prove themselves to be some steely-faced comedians. Since they play brothers Vince and Matthew on the series created by Mindy Kaling and Charlie Grandy, Holm and Favreau are first to go. It only takes a few rounds before Favreau’s sent packing. That pits the former Workaholics star against comedian and The Mindy Project actor Fortune Feimster. Neither seems fazed by the bad jokes, and the duel has to be settled with a staring contest — which Holm wins.

As far as fierceness of the competition is concerned, it’s somewhere between the Summer Olympics and retired guys fly fishing, but Holm, Feimster, and Favreau do manage to deliver some solid laughs.
