Actor Joe Pantoliano is returning for Bad Boys For Life as Captain Howard. Conrad Howard was the police captain of the Miami Police Department that the characters Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett reported to in the 1995 film Bad Boysas well as the sequel that was released in 2003. For years, a third Bad Boys film was rumored to be in development, but it only recently started to gain traction.

While Will Smith had remained optimistic about Bad Boys 3, despite the film being trapped in development, the film had been pushed back several times due to Smith becoming an even bigger Hollywood star than he was in the early 2000s. Martin Lawrence on the other hand, has been less optimistic about the film being made, often showing doubt that Bad Boys for Life would ever hit the big screen. While both Smith and Lawrence have now been confirmed to return for Bad Boys 3, Pantoliano will also be returning for the movie.

Deadline confirmed this afternoon that Pantoliano will indeed be returning for the buddy-cop flick as Captain Conrad Howard. Pantoliano will reprise his role alongside Smith and Lawrence, as well as Jerry Bruckheimer, who is set to return as a producer. Deadline also seemed to confirm that Bad Boys for Life would start filming next month, which we previously reported back at the beginning of October. The film will also be directed by the filmmaking duo Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah.

Martin Lawrence Gabrielle Union and Will Smith in Bad Boys II

While Bad Boys for Life has been craved by fans since Michael Bay released Bad Boys II in 2003, fans will also get Bad Boys TV show centered around Detective Burnett's sister named Syd, played by Gabrielle Union, in 2019. The show is called L.A.'s Finest and revolves around Syd working with a police officer named Nancy McKenna, played by Jessica Alba. The spin-off will mix comedy and action together much like the films did, with Syd and McKenna both having a different approach to law enforcement. In May it was announced that L.A.'s Finest wouldn't move forward at NBC, but since then Charter Communications has picked up the series.

As for Bad Boys for Life, Pantoliano has remained active in recent years, appearing in projects like the film Happy Anniversary and the TV movie Lake Placid: Legacy. Even though The Matrix and Memento actor has continued to find work in films, his return for Bad Boys for Life will certainly be the biggest project he has worked on lately. With the film heading into production within a month, fans can expect other casting announcements for Bad Boys for Life to come out fairly soon.
