The Bad Batch is one of the latest animated series in the Star Wars canon, having premiered on Disney+ in 2021. It is a spin-off of the series Star Wars: The Clone Wars that follows a group of mercenary clone troopers who all have mutations that make them genetically different from the others.

Commander Cody is a vital character from The Clone Wars who has yet to appear on The Bad Batch. Originally introduced in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, Commander Cody is a Clone Marshal Commander who was also known as CC-2224. Although he was loyal to the iconic Star Wars Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, once his chip was triggered to execute Order 66, he did attempt to murder his former ally.
Given his conversation in the trailer, it seems that Commander Cody is still aligned with the Empire in Star Wars: The Bad Batch season 2. However, he is beginning to have misgivings about the clones who have already turned their backs on imperial rule, even though his compatriot Crosshair has no pity for the traitors, saying they are just as bad as the Jedi themselves. It seems that this season will see the character wrestling with his morality even more, though it seems unlikely that he will firmly ally himself with The Bad Batch any time soon.
