In the season 1 finale of Star Wars: The Bad Batch, the scene in which Nala Se arrives at an Imperial facility supports the theory that Omega (Michelle Ang) is a Force-sensitive clone. When Admiral Rampart first recruits her to join the Empire in episode 14, Nala Se’s possible contribution to the Empire’s cloning endeavors was unlimited, but the final scene in “Kamino Lost” implies that she’s responsible for the Empire’s advances in Force-sensitive cloning during the New Republic era.

The theory that Omega is a Force-sensitive clone was established in The Bad Batch episode 1, when it was previously unclear exactly why the Kaminoan cloners created Omega, the only existing female clone of Jango Fett. Even more strangely, she was grown not for the Republic, but independently by their Chief Medical Scientist Nala Se. Evidence of Omega’s Force-sensitivity first arose in “Aftermath,” when Omega shoots Crosshair— a clone whose genetic mutation makes him an excellent marksman— without any prior training, which suggests that Omega used the Force to guide her aim. Following the reveal that Omega is a pure genetic replication of Jango Fett’s DNA, Boba Fett’s “sister,” and the key to the Kaminoans’ future cloning operations, Omega’s Force-sensitivity was then believed to be debunked since her purpose for being created had already been disclosed. The ending of The Bad Batch season 1, however, suggests the theory still has some merit.

In “Kamino Lost,” Nala Se arrives at an Imperial facility on Mount Tantiss, the newly canonized Star Wars Legends location that has a history with Imperial cloning. An Imperial scientist welcomes Nala Se to the facility and states, “We are all admirers of your scientific talents. The Empire has big things planned for you.” Because the scientist dons a similar uniform with the same insignia that Dr. Pershing wears in The Mandalorian, the scene suggests that Nala Se’s future cloning projects for the Empire will be linked to Dr. Pershing’s own experiments, which involved injecting Grogu’s blood into test subjects to bestow them with Force-sensitivity. Along with Nala Se’s own cloning expertise, the connection further implies that Nala Se kickstarts the Empire’s preliminary developments on Force-sensitive cloning, giving new credence to the theory that Omega herself is a Force-sensitive clone as one of Nala Se’s past special projects.

Star-Wars-Nala-Se-Bad-Batch

If Omega is Nala Se's first attempt at Force cloning, the final scene in “Kamino Lost” would allude to the coming conflict for The Bad Batch season 2. With Nala Se leading the Empire’s cloning efforts, it’s plausible her work instigates the creation of clones in the New Republic era. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker establishes that Force-sensitive cloning is the foundation of Palpatine’s ultimate plan to attain immortality, which involves transferring his life essence into a clone body. Palpatine’s frail appearance in Rise of Skywalker displays one of the main challenges posed by Force cloning: replicating a body that can withstand his power of the dark side of the Force. If Omega is Nala Se’s first successful Force-sensitive clone creation, Omega would become a commodity in the Star Wars universe that Palpatine would want to acquire, study, and recreate for himself.

The complicated nature of Nala Se and Omega’s relationship also suggests there's more to their story. The reveal that Omega is a pure replication of Jango Fett implied that the Kaminoans created her to ensure the continuation of their cloning contracts, but Nala Se’s actions don’t seem to align with that thinking. In episode 8 of Star Wars: The Bad Batch, Nala Se hires bounty hunter Fennec Shand to prevent the Kaminoans from recovering Omega, prioritizing her safety. In Star Wars: The Clone Wars, however, Nala Se is depicted as rather ruthless, viewing the clones as disposable property of the Kaminoan government. While Omega never appeared afraid of Nala Se, she has an aversion to returning to Nala Se’s private lab. Instead of being motivated by any filial love for Omega, it’s more plausible that Nala Se went to such great lengths to protect Omega because the clone is her greatest scientific achievement.
