Warning! Spoilers ahead for Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 1 Episode 16, "Kamino Lost."

In the finale episode of Star Wars: The Bad Batch, Emperor Palpatine has dark plans for Kamino's head cloning scientist Nale Se now that she's working for the Empire, which could lead to more beyond the foreshadowing of The Mandalorian's Grogu and Supreme Leader Snoke. With The Bad Batch Season 2 having been announced and currently in development, Nale Se's efforts and work could be seen much sooner, creating new and dark challenges for the rogue and enhanced Clone Force 99 to face.

In the finale for The Bad Batch, the Empire opened fire on the largely evacuated Tipoca City, the largest and primary cloning facility on Kamino. Having no more need for its production of clones due to their decision to recruit stormtroopers from across the galaxy, they took the clones that remained and sent them off-world. That being said, they apparently still had use for Nale Se and her talents as Kamino's head scientist, letting her live despite killing Kamino's prime minister Lama Su in prior episodes. While the Bad Batch and their estranged brother Crosshair (who's still with the Empire) were on Kamino during its destruction, they managed to survive and escape the planet as well, though they did part ways with Crosshair as they left.

However, the last scene of "Kamino Lost" saw Nale Se being taken to the Empire's secret stormtrooper training facilities on Daro. Flanked by former Republic-now-Imperial commandos, the Kaminoan was greeted by a human Imperial scientist who welcomed her, letting her know that she and her team were all admirers of her talents. She also told Nala Se that the Empire has big plans for her. Seeing as how her uniform bears the same insignia as that of The Mandalorian's Doctor Pershing, it's not hard to assume that Nala Se has become an integral part of the Empire's cloning efforts such as with young Grogu and the creation of Snoke, existing as preluding elements that lead to the clone bodies created for Emperor Palpatine himself. However, it's very likely that more recent projects could soon be revealed from Nala Se. Perhaps she helps to create enhanced stormtroopers to rival the Bad Batch?

Star-Wars-Nala-Se-Bad-Batch

The Bad Batch Season 2 could easily see Nala Se working to create unique stormtroopers to aid the Imperial effort to control the galaxy. While this wouldn't involve cloning per se, Nala Se excelled at amplifying certain characteristics and aspects within a subject to illicit desired talents and valuable skills, such as Wrecker's increased strength or Crosshair's higher than average eyesight as a marksman. There's also a narrative precedent as well, seeing as how the Empire did have Task Force 99 in its service (also known as Darth Vader's SCAR Squadron), a set of stormtroopers with unique skills that rivaled Clone Force 99.

That being said, there could be any number of things the Emperor wants Nala Se to work on and create prior to any presumed involvement with Grogu and Snoke. Then again, cloning production is a long and intricate process, especially given the focus on clone creation to support the power of force wielders such as Palpatine. In any case, whatever they want Nala Se to do first it seems unlikely that her story within Star Wars: The Bad Batch is over and that viewers can expect to see elements of her new work in the next season.
