The award-winning musical adaption of the 1985 film Back to the Future will officially be making its Broadway debut sometime in 2023. The musical debuted at the Manchester Opera House in March 2020 before moving to the West End at the Adelphi Theatre in September of the same year. The original musical run saw Olly Dobson taking on the iconic role of Marty McFly, with Roger Bart portraying the crazed scientist Dr. Emmett Brown in the classic time-travel tale. Back to the Future won Best New Musical at the 2022 Olivier Awards, which is the UK equivalent of the Tony Awards.

Now, the Back to the Future musical will be making its Broadway debut sometime in 2023. Although production details like casting and dates have not been announced, a teaser for the upcoming Broadway production sees Dobson and Bart back behind the wheel of the iconic DeLorean time machine. Hopeful Back to the Future musical-goers can now sign up for priority ticket information at the musical's official website. The West End version of the show featured music and lyrics by Alan Silvestri and Glan Ballard, along with a book that was adapted from Back to the Future's original screenplay by Bob Gale, who co-wrote the 1985 hit film with director Robert Zemeckis. With casting and other production details currently being held close to the vest, it will be interesting to see what changes, if any, the award-winning musical adaption will make before Back to the Future debuts on Broadway in 2023.
