Although Katie and Blake's The Bachelorette season 17 relationship didn't start until the fourth week, the couple immediately hit it off on the show, and it's time to talk about Katie's gorgeous engagement ring. On the show, Blake became an instant frontrunner for Katie's heart. However, it wasn't until the hometown dates that Katie knew Blake was the one for her. After weeks of anticipation, Bachelor Nation finally watched Blake Moynes profess his love for Katie and get down on one knee.
Before he proposed, Blake needed to sit down and select a ring from six options designed by The Bachelor franchise's longtime jewelry designer, Neil Lane. While Neil wasn't there in person to assist Blake with selecting a ring, former Bachelorette and co-host Tayshia Adams FaceTimed with Neil ahead of the ring selection. She sat down with Blake in Neil's place. Though the interaction was initially a little awkward for fans to watch, as Tayshia helped her ex pick a ring for Katie, Tayshia really reassured Blake. She helped him to pick out a ring that they were both sure Katie would love.
Of the six Neil Lane rings that Blake was shown for Katie, he selected a stunning three-carat ring with a platinum band. The ring features an oval-shaped diamond set within a crown motif atop a hidden halo. The halo is comprised of ninety smaller diamonds and can't be seen from the top of the ring. Overall, the ring is all about simplicity and elegance, as seen below.
Outside of The Bachelorette realm, Neil spoke with People about the ring that he designed, explaining how unique it is and how nervous Blake was during the whole ring selection process. Neil shared that the hidden halo was similar to Blake and Katie's love story, as both the ring and their relationship are all about taking risks and finding the beauty in the hidden details. While a lot of their relationship was surface level at first, there is so much more than meets the eye when it comes to their love. The ring that's now on Katie's finger has surface and hidden beauty.
As for Blake's first impression of the ring, the design really resonated with him. He shared that he had found the oval-shaped diamond to be very romantic and elegant, perfectly embodying the woman he was going to ask to marry him. While it isn't the biggest ring in Bachelor Nation (season 16's lead Clare Crawley still holds that title with a whopping 4.5-carat ring), The Bachelorette star Katie gushed about her love for the simple yet stunning ring on After The Final Rose. Bank marketing manager Katie explained that although she had never looked at rings before, the ring that Blake selected for her was exactly what she would've chosen for herself.
