The fan-favorite contestant from last season of The Bachelorette, Tyler Cameron is only focused on one thing right now: himself. The star recently stated that he's not worried about his future status within Bachelor Nation and that he just wants to focus on him for a while.
Cameron first appeared on Hannah Brown's season of The Bachelorette, where he captured hearts across America with his stunning good looks and rom-com worthy speeches. Although Brown chose Jed Wyatt over him, Cameron continued to support the star. When her engagement fell apart, it looked like there might be hope for a reunion between the couple. Although they spent an evening together, rumors of a relationship quickly died when Cameron was linked to Gigi Hadid. Their fling was short-lived and never fully confirmed by either Cameron or Hadid, though he did travel to Europe with her for her grandma's funeral. Most recently, he was spotted out with Kylie Jenner's best friend Stassie Karanikolaou, though that relationship seems to be more casual. Beyond his love life, Cameron is living in New York and working on his nonprofit with a close friend. Although he's vaulted to insane levels of stardom, he's not too concerned about his future within Bachelor Nation.
In an interview posted to TMZ, Cameron discussed his new "it guy" status and his future goals. When asked if he wanted to the Bachelor, Cameron said: "I'm not really worried about all that right now, I'm really just focused on myself." As the interviewer continued to ask if it would be a good role, Tyler deferred to talking about Peter Weber, stating that he's a great Bachelor and reiterating that the role isn't his focus at the moment. He also seemed wary of his new stardom. When the interviewer called him the "it guy", Cameron said, "I'm not the 'it guy,' you're the 'it guy.'"
While Cameron didn't necessarily care about his future within Bachelor Nation, he definitely didn't want to talk about his dating life. When asked about his relationship with Stassie, Cameron clearly shut down. He shook his head in apparent frustration and muttered a noncommittal "Nah" before boarding the elevator and ending the interview. He bid the interviewers goodbye, refusing to comment further on the relationship.
While Cameron has certainly made a splash within Bachelor Nation, his fame has extended far beyond The Bachelorette. He's been linked to some pretty big names, but he still seems nervous to truly embrace his fame. The constant inquiries into his dating life and his inability to have a private moment with someone has to be frustrating. In addition, a season of The Bachelor that Cameron could star on is more than a year away. Why would he be thinking about that right now? While his evasive nature frustrates our sense of curiosity, his desire to focus on himself is totally warranted. You do you, Tyler.
