The Bachelorette alum Trista Sutter shares a message with her followers as she moves forward into the year 2022 and looks back at how 2021 has been for her and her family. Trista first appeared on The Bachelor season 1, and later appeared on The Bachelorette where she met her husband Ryan Sutter, who has recently been suffering from an undiagnosed illness. After a particularly tough couple of years for the couple, Trisha provides an update on how she feels about the future.
Trista met Ryan on The Bachelorette season 1. While The Bachelorette went on to have 17 seasons, Ryan and Trista remain one of the few couples who have stayed together after being on the show. While the couple has spent almost 20 happy years with one another, Trista recently revealed that her family was going through a difficult time as Ryan had been struggling as a result of unknown health issues. In 2020, Trista shared that the couple had been seeking answers about Ryan's illness for months, and while the couple was unable to receive a full diagnosis, doctors ruled out the possibility of cancer for Ryan.
As the year 2021 came to a close, Trista explained that she has an optimistic outlook for the future despite recent circumstances. On December 31st, Trista shared several photos of her and her family on Instagram, telling her followers that she's going home from the holidays in a better state than she entered them, saying that she is"leaving Florida with a much-needed sense of peace, gratitude, motivation, and family." Trista explains that although 2021 has been difficult for her, she has recently been in a good place, saying "2021 wasn’t my favorite year, but the last week of it was a favorite of favorites."
She also adds that she is hopeful for positive experiences in the future and thankful for many of her loved ones, saying "looking to the new year, thankful for true friends, my insightful husband, our beautiful growing kiddos and adventures that give my spirit (and my skin!) a joyful jolt." Trista tagged "My New Favorite Place" as the location of the photo set. The very first Bachelorette also included several hashtags relating to future travel, her two children, as well as the new year.
While things have not always been perfect for Trista and Ryan since their appearance on The Bachelorette, Trista seems to have consistently maintained a positive outlook and has frequently expressed that she is grateful for all that is good in her life. The beloved couple has shared that they have had a great deal of gratitude for one another over the years. In addition to having always been transparent with fans of The Bachelorette and The Bachelor about various aspects of her personal life including Ryan's recent health issues, Trista has also been open about her and Ryan's experiences on The Bachelorette, leading the original Bachelorette couple to have become fan favorites. Fans of the happy couple are likely glad to see that Trista and her family are doing well even despite their recent difficulties.
