After having a fairytale love story on The Bachelorette season 16 and getting engaged at the finale, Tayshia Adams and Zac Clark have now broken up and called off their engagement. Bachelor Nation was first introduced to Zac as a 36-year-old addiction specialist from Haddonfield, New Jersey. When the season started out, Zac had gone on the show to pursue a relationship with Clare Crawley. However, the original lead left the show mid-season to be engaged with contestant Dale Moss.

Tayshia took over as the new lead of The Bachelorette season 16 during week five. At the time, a lot of contestants pondered whether they wanted to stay on the show to get to know Tayshia or if their feelings for Clare had been too real for them to stay on board with a new lead. Most men chose to stick around and get to know Tayshia, and it was clear that Zac found a chemistry with her that he had never felt with Clare in previous weeks.

Zac Clark and Tayshia Adams on The Bachelorette season 16

Tayshia and Zac first met on The Bachelorette during the week five episode that aired on November 10, 2020. The season had been filmed a few months prior, but that's when the couple officially met on TV. From their very first interactions, it was clear that Tayshia and Zac had something special going on between them. However, given that Clare had just "broken" the season according to host Chris Harrison, Bachelor Nation was hesitant to place any bets about Tayshia's journey on the show. It should also be noted that Tayshia's first impression rose went to Spencer Robertson, not to Zac.

Nonetheless, Tayshia's feelings for Zac kept growing over the course of The Bachelorette season 16. During the episode that aired on December 21, 2020, Tayshia had narrowed down her contestants to a final three consisting of Ben Smith, Ivan Hall, and Zac. She then went into the finale having to choose between Ben and Zac. As expected, Tayshia chose to be with Zac, and he proposed to her at the grand finale that ABC aired on December 22, 2020. Since then, the couple has been nothing but strong in the eyes of the public. After Chris Harrison's franchise exit, Tayshia was chosen to co-host The Bachelorette seasons 17 and 18 alongside Kaitlyn Bristowe.

Following multiple reports that Tayshia and Zac were experiencing relationship problems, the couple officially split and called off their engagement on November 22, 2021. Given that Michelle Young's season of The Bachelorette is still airing during this period, fans will be tuning into new episodes of the show featuring a very different Tayshia in comparison to her present-day self. Official statements and reasons have yet to be publicized by Tayshia and/or Zac, but early reports indicated that Tayshia's role as a TV co-host had put a strain on their relationship.
