After a dramatic The Bachelorette season finale, Katie Thurston has finally found her happily ever after with Blake Moynes, and it's time to talk about why he was the right choice for her. He proposed to her with a beautiful Neil Lane engagement ring. The proposal followed some tense moments for Katie and Bachelorette fans. Greg, the man she proclaimed to be her frontrunner, left the show, and then Blake seemingly got cold feet while looking at rings. All the signs were pointing towards Katie leaving the show with a broken heart.
However, Blake did get down on one knee to propose to Katie, telling her, "I'm excited to support you and be there for you every day moving forward." The bride-to-be happily showed off her ring on the After The Final Rose special.

Blake Fought To Be On The Show
Blake initially competed on Clare Crawley and Tayshia Adams' season in 2020 but was eliminated by Tayshia several weeks after she took over the leading role. Blake DM'ed Katie before she left to film the show and felt that the two could be a match, so he fought to be cast on her season. He was eventually brought in during week five of the show. Even though he had to have known that arriving late on The Bachelorette might be awkward and he wouldn't be received with open arms by the other men, he still put in the effort to have a chance with Katie. He showed his dedication to their relationship from the very start.
They (Sort Of) Get Along With Each Other's Family
Katie hit it off with Blake's family during their hometown date, despite criticism and questions from his mom, Emily, and his sister, Taylor. They questioned Blake's feelings for her, pointing out that he had fallen hard for three Bachelorettes in a row. Emily still wanted to welcome Katie to the family with a humorous present, though. Katie recently posted a picture on her @katiethurston Twitter of a sex toy she had received as a gift. Though she didn't reveal who gave her the toy, the toy's Canadian maple leaf print indicates that it was from Blake's family.
Meeting Katie's family didn't go quite as well for Blake. Katie's Aunt Lindsay grilled Blake, not shying away from the tough questions. She went on to let him know that "You're here because we want you here. Not because we need you here." Throughout the tough conversation, wildlife fan Blake kept his cool and answered all of her questions. Despite the ominous meeting, Katie assured fans in an interview with Glamour that her family approved of the engagement. "They didn't seem too surprised, but they're very happy and supportive."
