The Bachelorette’s Mike Johnson is dating Demi Lovato, but it’s not serious. The two stars have been playing cat and mouse with one another - and with fans' hearts.

While Johnson was overlooked to be the first veteran and African American Bachelor, he still made headlines after making date plans with Demi Lovato. Johnson found fame as a former contestant on The Bachelorette with Hanna Brown, and even though he did not walk away with the final rose, he did walk away with the hearts of many Bachelor Nation fans.

A source recently revealed to Us Weekly that Johnson and Lovato are casually dating, but that it's nothing serious yet. Many fans of the ‘Really Don’t Care” singer were aware that she needed time to get her life on track after her rehab stint. She would like to keep her sobriety in check while putting herself out there more to meet new and better people. Johnson, on the other hand, was a little giddier when speaking about his potential love interest, saying the singer is “amazing” and that he believes that she may feel the same way about him.

The source, who is close to Lovato, said that she thinks highly of Mike and is thrilled about how smart and funny he is. The Disney Chanel star liked that he respects the boundaries she puts up and is not afraid to make her laugh, as these are qualities she is looking for in a potential suitor. Unlike Lovato, her family, according to the source, is not getting their hopes up as they are just going to wait and see where it leads - though they do think he is a “very nice guy.” The two began their flirting back and forth while Mike was still on The Bachelorette, with Lovato reaching out to Johnson on her Instagram account asking if he would accept her rose.

In July, Johnson took to Twitter after he left the show asking if there was a girl out there who was ready for adventures, smiles, and honesty, to which Demi replied enthusiastically. The couple seems to have grown closer and fonder to one another, according to their social media accounts. The two were officially spotted on what looked like their first date on September 13 in a Los Angeles restaurant and gushed about how they were both down to earth. While the two seem to have real conversations, fans can’t help but wonder if their talk will turn into something more serious.
