Michelle Young's journey to find love on The Bachelorette season 18 starts tonight with a grand premiere that will introduce Bachelor Nation to 30 new contestants competing for a rose. Fans first got to know Michelle on Matt James' season of The Bachelor as a 27-year-old elementary school teacher from Woodbury, Minnesota. She wasn't cast as a day-one contestant and instead walked into the competition in week three. Nonetheless, Michelle still got viewers to fall in love with her.

Despite getting all the way to the final two, Michelle's connection with Matt was ultimately weaker than what he had built with Rachael Kirkconnell. As a result, Michelle finished as the runner-up of The Bachelor season 25, which was heartbreaking to many fans. Thankfully, however, ABC chose Michelle as one of the two leads of The Bachelorette seasons scheduled for 2021. Katie Thurston's season aired first in the summer, and it is now Michelle's turn to lead season 18 in the fall.

What Time Is The Bachelorette Season 18 Episode 1 On Tonight?

The Bachelorette season 18 episode 1 will air Tuesday, October 19 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. This will be a two-hour episode where Michelle will meet a lineup of 30 men competing for her love and attention. Like it is the tradition in the franchise, each man will walk out of a limo (or from a different mode of transportation) and try to make a good first impression on Michelle. Because it is quite hard for a season lead to remember 30 names and faces, the contestants typically try to use props, jokes, or other creative methods to stand out from the pack.
