The Bachelorette alums Michelle Young and Nayte Olukoya revealed that they are on the road to planning their wedding. The pair got engaged during the recent season finale of The Bachelorette and have no plans to take a slow approach to plan their wedding. During After The Final Rose, the newly engaged couple got a generous gift on behalf of The Bachelor "family." Nayte revealed that he's planning to move to Michelle's home state of Minnesota in a few short months as they are actively looking for houses. The Bachelorette co-host, Kaitlyn Bristowe, then gifted them with a gingerbread house that contained a $200,000 check for a downpayment on their first house.
Nayte caught Michelle's attention during night one of The Bachelorette and received the first impression rose. Fans and other contestants on the show were convinced that the 27-year-old was a "walking red flag." During his time on the show, Nayte had a hard time expressing his feelings towards Michelle. He claimed to have never been in love before coming on The Bachelorette, so effectively communicating with Michelle was a struggle for him throughout the season. After filming, the couple addressed the negative comments about Nayte and simply said that even though fans might not have understood his intentions, Michelle did and that's all that matters to them. The pair are clearly deeply in love and have already started to plan their wedding. They expressed that they want a summertime wedding in a warm location. Michelle explained that they agreed on a warm location because they are both from cold hometowns and they would like a change of scenery when they exchange their "I do's."
Michelle and Nayte revealed that they are ready to start their lives together, including tying the knot. During an interview with People, Michelle said that the wedding planning is "picking up speed." Nayte added that now that the show is over and they're just a normal couple ready in love and they're ready to take the next steps. "No shade to anybody who wants a long engagement, but that's not us. We're like, cool, you're my person, I'm your person. We're ready," Michelle said.
Nayte said that his mom is hoping that the two get married in Scotland, but he and Michelle have something different in mind, like a warm summertime wedding. Beyond wedding plans, Nayte is getting ready to reside in Minnesota with his fiancée claiming that he's all in. "I'm looking forward to packing up and seeing what Minnesota is like," he said. The duo even discussed kids and Michelle jokingly said they want ten children but she wants Nayte to herself for a while. "We want to travel around, just be Michelle and Nayte right now. But the kids will come," Nayte added.
It's refreshing to see an engaged couple come out of The Bachelorette who are actually ready to take the next steps towards marriage. It's far too often that Bachelor Nation couples come out of the show engaged and claim they want to test out their relationship in the real world before even thinking of marriage. To each their own, but if you accept a proposal from somebody, wouldn't that mean they have faith that not only would their relationship last in the real world but also marriage? Either way, Michelle and Nayte seem to really be in love without any drama following them. It will be a treat to see the progression of their love story.
