Despite fans being excited about Katie Thurston being the next Bachelorette, her promo video for the upcoming season fell flat after they noticed a small wardrobe malfunction. Although Katie looked put together in the short clip, fans noticed something strange about the purple skirt she was wearing. The promos for Katie's season were recently released. Katie is currently filming her season at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort and Spa. Similar to Matt James' season of The Bachelor, Katie's season if being filmed in a Covid bubble.

It was announced in mid-March that both Katie and Michelle Young of Matt's season would be the next Bachelorettes. Katie's season is set to air this summer while Michelle's will premiere in the fall. Fans instantly fell in love with Katie on Matt's season because of her loud personality and willingness to stand up for what she believes in. Both fans and Katie were left in shock when Matt decided to send Katie home during their one-on-one date. Although things did not work out with Matt, Katie is currently on location working towards finding a potential husband.

After Katie's promo videos were released for her upcoming season, fans noticed something odd about her outfit. In the short clip which revealed the June 7 premiere date, Katie is seen wearing a white blouse tucked into a long, purple skirt. The skirt featured a zipper down the entire frontside. At first, fans thought the look was somewhat outdated. Then, after some research, they realized the skirt was not outdated; Katie was actually wearing it the wrong way. The zipper was intended to be on the backside of the skirt, meaning the stylist, Cary Fetman, had put the skirt on Katie backwards. It is unknown if he did this intentionally or not.

Cary was also responsible for Matt's outdated looks on his season as well. Fans on Reddit pointed out that many celebrities often times wear their skirts backwards as well such as Kate Middleton, Taylor Swift and Celine Dion. While this seems to be a common fashion trend, in this instance many fans feel it should not have been done. The upper part of the skirt which was originally intended to be located on the glute region consisted of extra fabric which was not flattering on Katie.

On the other hand, if the model photo of the skirt had not been found, most people would have never even realized she was wearing the skirt wrong in the first place. It would have just been assumed that the skirt did not fit Katie properly and it was a poor decision on the stylist's behalf. As Katie continues her search for love, fans are hoping she stops wearing her clothes backwards. Katie's season of The Bachelorette is set to premiere on June 7, 2021 on ABC.
