According to Steve Carbone, Katie gives her very first rose to Greg Grippo. The 27-year-old is from Edison, New Jersey. It's not clear what he does for a living at the moment, but he graduated from Saint Michael's College in 2018 with a business administration and management degree. He also played basketball there and was captain of the team for the 2015-16 season. Greg also has a history with The Bachelorette; he was actually slated to be on Clare Crawley's season last year, but was cut from the cast. Luckily, he'll be returning to fight for Katie's heart. His college sports bio lists his height as 6'3"; looks like Katie likes her men tall.
Greg's Instagram profile is private, so there isn't too much info about him out there. However, a few key things could point to why Katie is interested in him. Katie just turned 30, so she is looking for someone older and more mature. Overall, her guys range from age 25 to 36. At 27, Greg is age-appropriate and more ready for a serious relationship than the younger guys.
