Now that The Bachelorette Katie Thurston is dating former suitor John Hersey, Blake Moynes believes he was emotionally cheated on. Throughout Katie's season of the ABC reality series, Blake hoped that he would end up with Katie. The couple had a strong connection that began immediately after he joined the group in the middle of the season. Blake was ready to find love and believed he and Katie could be a good match.

It seemed the former banking manager felt the same way, as The Bachelorette lead accepted a proposal from Blake during the final rose ceremony. After the season was done and the couple could go out in public together, Katie and Blake headed to his home nation, Canada, and drove cross-country. A few months after they went public with their relationship, Katie and Blake announced their breakup. The long-distance element of their relationship was a huge issue between them, and they realized that they weren't destined to be life partners. Despite the split, they still had a lot of love for one another, until now.

After Katie announced that she was dating John from her season, Blake decided to express his thoughts about the new romance on a public forum. Bryan Abasolo and Mike Johnson from the Talking It Out with Bachelor Nation podcast spoke with the Canadian The Bachelorette alum about Katie's new relationship, and how he believes she emotionally cheated on him. "I feel stupid and foolish for allowing it to happen, I guess, at some degree," Blake admitted to the hosts. While he doesn't think anything physical happened between her and John, he knows the pair had an emotional connection. Blake is based outside of Toronto, while Katie lives in Los Angeles, just a few hours away from San Diego, where John lives. Being so geographically close allowed Katie and John to develop a strong connection.

"There was clearly emotional [cheating] for it to transition as quickly as it did," Blake, who has unfollowed Katie, explained. However, the 30-year-old did take some responsibility for the breakup, admitting that he wasn't able to provide the emotional connection Katie now has with John. "I don’t know if it was partially me too [...] Because I wasn’t able to provide something with words of affirmation — which I know I struggle with sometimes," Blake confessed. Katie and John did spend a lot of time together, however, it never seemed romantic. Even Blake was shocked to hear that Katie had jumped into another relationship so quickly.

He also suggested that Katie's "12 Days of Messy" Instagram Stories were calculated, and knew Day 12 would be about John. Blake had a difficult time processing the timeline of their relationship, as he trusted Katie completely while they were together. However, he does believe that John had other intentions with Katie while she was still engaged to Blake. "Clearly, he was more into it or was pursuing it or wanted to be hanging out with her all the time," he said.

While no one knows the truth, it is quite clear that Katie and John developed feelings for each other after she finished filming The Bachelorette. With Blake in another country for most of their relationship, it was easy for Katie to become close with someone who lived fairly close to her.
