Katie Thurston, the current Bachelorette, admitted she wasn't interested in Blake Moynes when he first reached out to her on social media. Less than a month ago, Katie's journey to find her future husband began, and she was immediately introduced to 30 eligible men. So far, Greg Grippo is the front runner of the bunch as he was the recipient of Katie's first impression rose. However, with Blake making a return to the show on tonight's new episode, Katie may have a new front-runner.
Viewers met Katie for the first time when she appeared on Matt James' season of The Bachelor earlier this year. She made quite the impression on him and the audience for exiting the limo with a vibrator in her hand. Nonetheless, she was sent home halfway through the season as she and Matt weren't able to move past a friendship. Blake was introduced to fans when he stepped out of the limo to meet Clare Crawley last season. While he was on the show long enough to vie for Tayshia Adams heart, who replaced Clare, he couldn't find love during his time on the show.
During an appearance on The Viall Files podcast with host Nick Viall, the 30-year-old revealed she wasn't that interested in Blake in the beginning as their first interaction was awkward. In fact, Blake, who said Katie was cold at first, had sent her a video of himself instead of actual written text. "[The videos] disappear, so then there's no evidence. The video is like, 'Hey, I just want to say you did really good on Matt's season. Good luck, you were great,'" she recalled. However, Katie wasn't surprised Blake sent her the video after her appearance on The Bachelor as he wasn't the only guy who reached out. Several guys from his season made it known they were also interested in Katie.
Katie admitted, "He was one of a bunch of them who had done that to me or other girls. So I was like, 'Whatever!' They were just being polite and kind of testing the water." She is well aware of the game and knows guys from The Bachelorette reach out to newly eliminated girls from The Bachelor. "They wait for you to get kicked off," she said, adding, "and are like, 'Is she with [the Bachelor] or not?'" Katie did reply to Blake by sending a "thank you" video back, which she found to be a bit awkward as the pair were strangers at the time. However, after he attempted to join her season, Katie decided to give him a shot. She had no idea he was ever that interested and was pleasantly surprised by Blake after getting to know him.
With Blake now completing for Katie's heart on The Bachelorette, viewers are wondering how far he will make it. Will he receive Katie's final rose and propose at the end, or will he get the boot? Fans will have to keep watching to find out!
