Former lead and current host of The Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe and Jason Tartick announced their engagement on Tuesday after dating for more than two years. They have been a couple that fans have been rooting for since the start, and Kaitlyn has been talking about a proposal for a long time.

Kaitlyn and Jason have the distinction of each finishing third on their initial seasons. They have been together since January 2019, following Kaitlyn's breakup with Shawn Booth from her season and Jason being dumped by Becca Kufrin on The Bachelorette. Kaitlyn wisely realized that Jason was one of the most eligible Bachelors in Bachelor Nation on the market and scooped him up before he had a chance to appear on any spin-offs. Since then, he has been supportive of his now-fiancée. When Kaitlyn won Dancing With the Stars, Jason celebrated like crazy. When she was named co-host with Tayshia Adams of Katie Thurston's season, he was by her side as well. Kaitlyn has already spoken about wanting kids with Jason, so it's no surprise engagement was the next step.

Kaitlyn shared a post on Instagram Tuesday with the caption, "Don't pinch me." Jason posted on Instagram, "Choosing your forever is the most important decision in the world, @kaitlynbristowe you made that decision so easy! Love you to death and forever." Bachelor Nation commented their support for a couple that has been nothing but a joy to watch since they got engaged. Rachel Lindsay commented, "Yaaaayyyyy so happy for you both!" Andi Dorfman wrote, "could not be happier for you!!"

On Wednesday at 5:30 a.m., Kaitlyn posted on her Instagram Story that she and Jason were on their way from their home in Nashville to Mexico to celebrate being engaged. "It's a good day to have a good week," Kaitlyn said, as she flashed her new engagement ring. Tartick proposed while Kaitlyn was preparing to record her "Off the Vine" podcast. She told ET, "We've never locked eyes like that."

From the start, Kaitlyn and Jason seemed like they were going to work. Although there have been many Bachelor Nation couples who have gotten engaged and not made it to the altar, it doesn't seem like that will happen with the Vancouver and Buffalo native. They have been so supportive of one another from the start, and appear eager to have a wedding and start a family. It has been a long and sometimes arduous journey for both of them, but watching their relationship blossom over the past couple years has been a joy for fans to watch.
