After almost nine years together, J.P. Rosenbaum and Ashley Hebert announced their separation to fans on Instagram in October 2020. The couple met back in 2011 on The Bachelorette and made headlines in January of 2020 after revealing that J.P. had been diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder that left him temporarily paralyzed. Since announcing their separation, they have been busy doing their own things. Here is what J.P. has been up to.

The former couple has made it clear to fans that no one should be blamed or victimized for their split, stating that they are simply two people with differing personalities and perspectives. Without a solid foundation for their marriage, J.P. and Ashley thought it would be best to separate and ensure their children, Fordham, 6, and Essex, 4, were not affected by the differences in their relationship and have a stable life following the split.

The two may have split up, but J.P. and Ashley still seem to be getting along great. J.P. recently praised Ashley for her hard work on Instagram following the split. Although the two are parting ways, they are looking forward to new beginnings. The former couple listed their home in Pinecrest, Florida, for $1.15 million just days after announcing their split. They expressed mixed emotions about packing up and selling the home but were ready to start the next chapter of their lives. J.P. and Ashley now reside in Miami after moving into separate apartments in December 2020 and February of this year.

J.P. has also expressed interest in starting to date around again but has voiced his concerns about being a 44-year-old single parent of two attempting to date in a pandemic. Even without a pandemic going on, J.P. has shared that the opportunity to start dating is terrifying but exciting, and he hopes that if love is in his future, that it happens organically. As for right now, he says he is focusing on his children and maintaining a positive relationship with Ashley.

J.P. and Ashley have also reunited on a number of occasions since October, including celebrating their daughter's 4th birthday together in November of 2020, just weeks after announcing their separation. Aside from sharing pictures of their children, J.P. has been busy posting advertisements on Instagram for DoorDash and Rent-A-Center. He has also been keeping up with everything The Bachelor and The Bachelorette related, sharing his commentary of the last few seasons on Facebook. It's nice that the two of them seem to be in a good place.
