The Bachelorette alum J.P. Rosenbaum is opening up about his divorce from Ashley Hebert on Instagram. After competing for Brad Womack's heart on season 15 of The Bachelor, Ashley led the ABC series in 2011 towards the beginning of the franchise. Less than two years later, Ashley married her final rose winner in front of ABC cameras. Since then, the couple completed their family with two children, Fordham, 6, and Essex, 4.

It's been a rocky road with the couple as J.P. was suddenly diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome in 2019. Though the rare neurological disorder in which the body's immune system attacks the nerves doesn't have a cure, J.P and Ashley tried to stay positive throughout his very long recovery. Despite being sick, J.P. decided to file to end his marriage nine months after the couple announced their split. "It is with a heavy heart that I share with you that, after months of separation, JP and I amicably decided to go our separate ways," Ashley wrote on Instagram back in October 2020. "We created the most beautiful children and shared memories that will never be forgotten. Our difference have taken a toll on our relationship and after years of attempting to repair the damage, we've decided that it is in our family's best interest to create new and separate lives for our children. Please respect our privacy as we move forward with the newness of our lives. Our ultimate focus is to create stable and healthy lives for our children. Thank you for your love and support throughout the years. Wishing you all love, happiness, and good health."

In wake of the disappointing news, J.P. opened up on social media Thursday to tell his fans that sometimes it's okay to not be okay. "It's 100% perfectly okay to NOT have all the answers, to NOT know what the future holds, to be afraid, to have anxiety, to feel uneasy about anything and everything," he said, adding some advice for those experiencing similar situations. "We are all human, we have all gone through it, or will at some point, and it is 100% normal to feel the way you do. People are resilient and you're so much stronger than you even know! All these moments in life will help you grow on so many levels. Keep moving forward, keep pushing, and keep expanding your comfort zone. Embrace the unknown, live your life, and I guarantee you will come out the other side just fine!"

Though Ashley hasn't responded to J.P.'s heartfelt Instagram stories, she has posted a few quotes of her own in which fans have assumed must explain how she's feeling during these tough times. Ashley has also been busy bringing her own pediatric dentistry to life in Coral Gables, Florida. In a post thanking everyone "that helped bring my vision to life," she tagged J.P. for his support.

Though their marriage is ending, the love and care J.P. and Ashley have consistently shown for their family throughout the years is still clearly shining through. The reality TV stars are just at the beginning of a long, bumpy, road, but hope to never let the legal battle affect their children's well-being while co-parenting. Divorce is hard no matter what, but sometimes it can also be a fresh plate for these Bachelorette stars.
