The fans are already swooning over John Hersey, one of the men that stood out the most on night one of Katie Thurston's season of The Bachelorette. Bachelor Nation is officially back on now that Katie's season has premiered, and there is certainly a lot to unpack here. First and foremost, the fans seemed to really enjoy season 11 lead Kaitlyn Bristowe and season 16 lead Tayshia Adams acting as the hosts of The Bachelorette, thus replacing Chris Harrison on Katie's season. Furthermore, the viewers are definitely excited to watch Katie's journey to find love through this platform.
But looking past the housekeeping of replacing Chris Harrison and the expectations for Katie Thurston to lead season 17, the fans are actually really enjoying this cast of The Bachelorette. There were quite a few memorable entrances from these men, and it's already clear that Katie has a lot of options when it comes to finding true love on the show. With that said, it should be noted that some men stood out more than others. Namely, most viewers really resonated with Greg Grippo, who won Katie's first impression rose; Connor Brennan, who came into the season dressed as "Catman"; and John Hersey, whose heartthrob status is already solidified.
Identifying as a true "thrill-seeker," John Hersey came into Katie Thurston's season of The Bachelorette as a 27-year-old bartender from Pacific Beach, California. There is no denying that John has a real passion for intense and adventurous activities. He enjoys surfing the San Diego waves, attending electronic music concerts, and skydiving, among other things. But that doesn't mean that John is only about crazy adventures - he also has a sweeter side to himself, and really wants to find a meaningful connection on the show. When it comes to dealbreakers, John believes that disrespect and lying as his biggest turn-offs.
While it is true that many contestants come into The Bachelorette alleging that they are very adventurous dudes, it only takes a quick look at John Hersey's Instagram page for one to see that he's not joking around. He has several pictures and videos of himself skydiving, surfing, mountain-climbing, bobsledding, and kayaking. But the real scene-stealer of John's IG grid is his dog, Dexter, who has his own profile, @__dextagram__. John takes Dexter in many of his adventures, and the Italian greyhound always looks like he's having a very good time.
There's still an entire season of The Bachelorette left to play out on TV, so it is extremely early for anyone to tell how John Hersey will do on the show. He did catch the attention of the fans, however, which is usually a good sign for contestants. On the other hand, it was Greg Grippo that got Katie's first impression rose, so the jury's still out!
