The Bachelorettecontestant Jed Wyatt’s ex-girlfriend revealed in a recent interview that the two were still together when he went on the reality show to win the heart of Hannah Brown. Unbeknownst to The Bachelorette Hannah Brown, Wyatt's heart may have been with someone else during the competition.

Wyatt previously opened up to Brown on their one-one-one date about his initial intentions when applying to be on The Bachelorette. The 25-year-old singer/songwriter told Brown that he was open to the idea of The Bachelorette because he is a hopeless romantic, but admitted that the main reason for joining the show was also due to it being a huge platform for his music career. He came clean to Brown because he wanted to be completely truthful to her, while also hiding the fact that he was in a serious 4-month long relationship before he left to be on the show.

Nashville-based musician Haley Stevens revealed that she was still in a relationship with Jed when he left for the show. In an interview with People, Stevens said, “We spent the night together the night before he headed to L.A. He told me [the show] was just an obstacle and we’d be stronger on the other side because of it.”  However, she never considered that he might actually fall for Brown, adding, “He was always so reassuring. He told me, it’s not real. It’s acting.” In fact, the two were still saying "I love you," and she expected they'd continue their relationship as usual when he returned. After the date, Brown even admitted to "catching feelings."

Stevens then confirmed more or less what Wyatt had told Brown already, that he originally wanted to be on the show for exposure. She explained that he wasn't entirely confident he'd even get onto the show, saying that he was only in it for the opportunity for possible success, saying, "He wanted a platform. He kept telling me, ‘I don’t want my dad to have to help me pay rent anymore.’ He said he only wanted to be top five … to be a major player so that it would be beneficial.”

However, as Wyatt's then-girlfriend watched The Bachelorette, she started to see what Wyatt was really up to and that he might actually be falling for Brown and vice versa. She added, “In the beginning, I felt bad [watching the show] because I thought he loved me and was faking dating her. But then I thought, my boyfriend could be engaged to someone else.” Her suspicions that their relationship was over were confirmed when Wyatt returned to Nashville after filming and never reached out to her as he had promised. When she ran into him and confronted him about it, she said that he didn't have an explanation.

In the end, what bothered Stevens the most is that he had ghosted her, which led her to feeling "100% betrayed."  She was especially frustrated that Wyatt didn't love her enough to have the "tough conversation" that was necessary. Neither Wyatt nor Brown have publicly addressed Stevens' claims, and as far as fans know, things are still going strong between the two of them. The Bachelorette viewers will have to wait and see if Wyatt had a genuine change of heart - or if Brown will send him home without a rose in the next episode.
