Jason Tartick is opening up about how he navigates long-distance with his finacée and former Bachelorette, Kaitlyn Bristowe. Both Jason and Kaitlyn are veterans of Bachelor Nation, but the two were never on the same season. Kaitlyn led season 11 of the ABC show, but things didn't end up lasting with Shawn Booth, who she got engaged to at the end, and Jason was eliminated before the finale on Becca Kufrin's season. The couple actually met on an episode of Kaitlyn's podcast, Off The Vine, and Jason moved to Nashville after less than a year of dating. Jason proposed to Kaitlyn in May 2021 while she was preparing to record her podcast.

Kaitlyn is hosting Michelle Young's season of The Bachelorette alongside Tayshia Adams, which is contributing to her and Jason's current long-distance relationship. Kaitlyn and Tayshia stepped in to host Katie Thurston's season after long-time host Chris Harrison departed due to racially insensitive comments. Both Kaitlyn and Tayshia have been given multi-year option contracts by ABC and seem to be loved by fans, so there's a good chance they'll be hosting more seasons of The Bachelorette. As former Bachelorettes themselves, they have the most insight into what the season leads are going through and the experience to help them through it. Even if Kaitlyn's hosting job is keeping her and Jason apart physically, it doesn't seem to be taking a toll on their relationship.

Jason revealed what he thinks the secret to maintaining their long-distance relationship is. "I think it’s just communication," Jason told Us Weekly. "Kaitlyn has a ton of work going on and absolutely killing it, and I have work going on, and what’s fun is we just get to do the things we’ve always dreamed of doing and support each other while doing it." The couple also makes sure to check in with each other mornings and nights to stay connected. Now that Kaitlyn's back from filming The Bachelorette, they're getting to spend more time together, "which is fun."

Jason also mentioned that their "wedding plans are good.Jason and Kaitlyn won't be televising their wedding as other Bachelor Nation alums have. While the couple may be used to being in front of the camera, they're also aware that their friends and family may not be. They want their guests to be comfortable and have a good time at their wedding, which might be hard to do if it's being filmed for television.

Given that most couples that get together on The Bachelorette, or any of its related shows, don't end up staying together, it's nice to see Kaitlyn and Jason doing well. Even though they didn't meet in the traditional Bachelor way, with each of them being on different seasons, they're still very much a Bachelor Nation couple. Having to be a long-distance couple to accommodate their careers doesn't seem to be a problem for the pair, and fans will be looking forward to Jason and Kaitlyn's upcoming wedding.
