In Week 4, The Bachelorette lead Rachel Recchia finally saw Hayden Markowitz for the villain he is and evicted him from their Virgin Atlantic cruise ship, which viewers saw as an overdue decision. As predictable as hearing "I'm here for the right reason" is, it is practically Bachelor Nation law that every season needs at least one person cast as the villain—and there have been some fantastic villain edits.

From men with girlfriends back home and the inevitable, "she's not as hot as my ex," to those who would rather be home with their mama or cat. But there are also those who simply like drama for the sake of drama. Over the years, Bachelorette leads have had a lot of shady men-children to identify and eliminate before the final rose is given. With 32 men on The Bachelorette season 19, it's been a tough job. Gabby Windey and Rachel sent home the first villain of the season, Chris Austin, who was thinking ahead to the Fantasy Suites and making problematic comments. This was presumptuous because he had yet to speak with either woman.

In Week 3, both Jacob Rapini and Hayden showed their true colors. Jacob told Gabby in a private conversation that she was "smokin' hot," but he preferred Rachel. Hayden also broke the brunette lead's heart, saying, " I think you have the bubbly aspect to you, the goofy aspect, and you're a little bit more—I don't want to say rough around the edges—but you want people to be very direct with y'all." While Hayden has since said that he was not emotionally or mentally ready to be on The Bachelorette, Rachel kept him around for another week. Of course, that ended in disaster.

Hayden Defends Calling Bachelorette Gabby Rough

If a man calls a woman he is courting "rough around the edges" to her face, it's likely that he says even worse things behind her back, which was the case with Hayden. Week 4 opened with Hayden defending calling Gabby "rough," and it got worse from there. After insinuating Gabby was immature, Hayden told James "Meatball" Clark, "I don't think I said anything wrong, to be honest with you. My dumb a*s uses the same verbiage that Gabby uses to describe herself, and she didn't like that. Well, b***h, maybe you shouldn't use that word to describe yourself." To double down, after accepting Bachelorette Rachel's rose and promising to commit to her and only her, Hayden said that the women "could not hold a candle" to his ex, and "I can tell you right now, I don't see how any guy in here can be like, 'I'm f*****g marrying these girls.'"

Before the week's cocktail party, Hayden seemed genuine when he said his goal was to get a rose from Rachel. Hayden seemingly had a secret weapon to take their relationship to "another level," though that level was ultimately out the door. He attempted to tug at Rachel's heartstrings with a photo album about his dog, Rambo, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor and only has months to live. The Bachelorette contestant said his heart was breaking for his sweet boy, but claimed he was sharing his heartbreak to let Rachel know that he "wouldn't be here if [his] intentions weren't to further [their] relationship." Hayden thought Rachel didn't show the appropriate amount of sympathy when Tino asked her to chat, cutting their conversation shorter than he would have liked.

Meanwhile, Meatball was working on his redemption arc with Rachel and supplied the Bachelorette with inside information. After hearing Hayden venting about Tino interrupting, he told Rachel, "[Hayden] made a vulgar comparison about you and his ex. It was something about breasts. And he also said, 'I don't trust these b*tches,' referring to you and Gabby." Rachel finally saw what co-Bachelorette Gabby realized the week before, and after confronting Hayden, only to have him lie to her, she walked him down the ship's gangplank for the long flight home. Hayden's overdue exit was followed by Quincy Williams and Kirk Bryant from Team Gabby and Jordan Helman from Team Rachel. With Logan Palmer wanting to switch sides, Rachel had better buckle up buttercup for another rough week ahead on The Bachelorette.
