Katie Thurston's season of The Bachelorette ended on a very messy note, and now that Katie's single again, fans suspect she might have Greg Grippo in the back of her mind. Katie had a couple of solid connections toward the end of her season. She was notably infatuated with Greg's down-to-earth energy, and the pair connected over losing their fathers. Katie also had eyes for Michael Allio and quickly envisioned herself as the stepmom to an instant family with Michael and his son. As the weeks dragged on, Michael realized he needed to prioritize his family and left before the end.

Katie's last standing, most likely life partner, was Greg. However, after Katie met Greg's family, he felt he had put all his feelings on the line. He thought he got a calculated response from The Bachelorette, not a heartfelt reception from the woman he loved. It was all too much for Greg. He couldn't get any more vulnerable and decided he needed to leave. When he claimed Katie didn't show him enough emotion, she argued she was trying to be an active listener and was taking it all in. Ultimately, Greg walked away after a highly emotional and tense goodbye, and Katie locked herself in a bathroom sobbing.

While Kate ended up getting engaged to Blake Moynes and then dated John Hersey, it's over with both men, and fans think Greg could still be weighing on Katie's heart. When it came to Greg and Katie's conversation during the After The Final Rose episode, everything felt very inconclusive. Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe looked dumbfounded as Katie accused Greg of being an actor and leading her on without an intention to get engaged. Greg looked equally stunned, insisting he felt Katie didn't reciprocate the intensity of love he was feeling. While Katie insisted she felt intensely mistreated but was happy with Blake, the aggression and anger she brought to the conversation hit at something more unsettled.

At the time, Anna Hyatt joked on Twitter, "Katie gaslighting Greg about gaslighting Katie about gaslighting Greg about gaslighting Katie." From an outside perspective, it looked like two people unprepared for the proactive transparency and vulnerability required in a real adult monogamous relationship playing the blame game. Katie likely felt regret for not opening up more radically to Greg while playing the non-committal game of The Bachelorette. While Greg likely felt bad for walking away so quickly. Michael Yagoobian joked, "Greg vs. who Katie thinks Greg is," with a side by the side of Greg and Paulie D from Jersey Shore.

Almost a year after the breakdown of Greg and Katie's relationship, fans think Katie might be open to starting back up with Greg. However, Greg said he was dating someone in Paris earlier this spring, so he may not be available. However, Greg's bromance with Andrew Spencer is thriving, indicating fans might see more of both guys on Bachelor In Paradise. If so, Katie may be in the rearview for good. Then again, Katie's most recent Instagram post hints she may have joined BIP as well. The lingering questions and feelings from The Bachelorette could be enough to bring Katie and Greg together at least for one more round of uncomfortable conversations.
