Fans weren’t surprised when they learned that the fastest engagement in Bachelorette history didn’t last, but the drama surrounding the breakup has gotten more intense over the last week. Dale broke the news in an Instagram post, where he said, "I wanted share [sic] with you all that Clare and I have decided to go our separate ways. We appreciate the love and support we've received from so many people, but this is the healthiest decision for both of us at this time." While sources close to Dale claim he and Clare had ended their relationship well before his social media announcement, Clare took to her own Instagram account to tell fans that she was blindsided by the breakup.
Rumors that the relationship ended because Dale was cheating on Clare have been swirling since he was spotted in NYC with a “mystery woman” who has been identified as real estate agent Eleonora Srugo. Fans are suspicious of Dale’s behavior, but Clare has so far not acknowledged the cheating rumors, and Eleonora has now asserted in a statement that she and Dale are just friends. “Dale and Eleonora are, and have been platonic friends for a few years,” Eleonora’s spokesperson, Ronn Torossian, relayed to Us Weekly. “They have never been romantically involved in any way. She was excited for his engagement and only wishes him all the best. They have never been involved dating, or romantically in any way whatsoever. Any claims they have dated or were romantically involved are blatant lies.”
While Eleonora has denied the cheating rumors, she has still displayed some questionable behavior online since Clare and Dale split. Dale and Eleonora are reportedly long-time friends, but Clare and Eleonora are not friends, in real life or on social media, it would seem, since neither follows the other. That’s not so unusual, but when Clare posted her response to Dale’s breakup announcement, Eleonora “liked” the post, which seems a pretty shady move given the circumstances.
So far the Dale-stayed-faithful camp is holding strong, as Dale, Eleonora, and additional sources have maintained that he never cheated on Clare. But, it’s notable that Clare has not commented on the rumors one way or the other. Is she waiting for more information to emerge before taking a stance?
