Former star of The Bachelorette Clare Crawley is officially done with her ex-fiancé, Dale Moss. The couple broke up last week amidst a swirl of cheating rumors and Clare's personal strife with her recent surgery and her mother's illness. Clare is now ready to move on with her life without Dale. During Clare's season of the show, which began filming in mid-July 2020, the couple fell in love at first sight. After just 12 days, Clare got engaged to Dale and they left the show together, facing harsh criticism from Bachelor Nation.
Following their exit, Clare and Dale's real-world relationship seemed to be a fairytale romance, until January of 2021 when they broke off their engagement. Still drawn to each other, they reunited in February and Clare began wearing her ring again in April. They celebrated their one-year anniversary in July. However, in September, Clare and Dale broke up again. People originally thought it was due to conflicts over getting married and where they would live. However, during the past week, rumors began swirling that Dale had an affair with Bachelor in Paradise star Abigail Heringer when he and Clare were on a break. Still, because of their on-again-off-again status, fans wondered if Clare and Dale would eventually find their way back to each other.
However, a source tells Us Weekly that is definitely not the case. Clare has been dealing with recovering from her breast implant removal surgery and her mother being placed on hospice care. She said she does not want to speak about the relationship because anyone can put on an act to form a narrative, which was perceived by many to be a reference to Dale. The source states, "Clare has seen everything by now for what is needed for her to have closure and not look back. She’s done with Dale for good. This past week has proven to her that he’s not someone who full-heartedly cares about her. He’s putting on an act for the public because he’s all about himself and his public image."
The source added that Clare has been in Sacramento, California, with her mother, while Dale has "been out and about with a smile on. If he truly loved her, he would be by her side while she’s grieving.” Although he did visit with Clare and her mother on September 28 after the breakup, when her mother's condition worsened, he went to Los Angeles the following day. The rumors about Abigail only added to Clare's pain. The source continued, “Clare’s not doing well — not just because of her mom or her own health, but because of the fact that she’s getting receipts after receipts about Dale. She just wants this to all go away and to grieve in peace.”
A representative for Dale countered these accusations, stating, “Dale flew to Los Angeles for a work obligation and had every intention to travel back to Sacramento to be with her, but his number was blocked which made it impossible to communicate with Clare. It is unfortunate that the next time Dale heard anything from Clare, it was on social media." The source added Dale has chosen not to speak about their relationship out of respect for Clare's family during this time. His team said, "He hopes that people will understand the current situation enough to respect everyone’s privacy during this time. He wishes Clare nothing but the best, and he is keeping her and her family in his thoughts and prayers."
Although Dale appears to support Clare, if she really did block his number, she has made it clear she is done with him for good.
