Popular The Bachelorette contestant Brendan Morais revealed that he has no plans to return to the franchise, whether as the next The Bachelor or to Bachelor In Paradise. Despite the hopes of many within Bachelor Nation, Brendan had a lot to say about why he doesn't want to be on another reality show.

During The Bachelorette season 16, Brendan Morais competed first for Clare Crawley's heart, and then for Tayshia Adams'. He had much better luck with Tayshia. In fact, Tayshia's first one-on-one date was with Brendan, and the two hit it off immediately. They bonded over family values and the fact that they both went through a divorce. Tayshia revealed later in the season that she was hoping to marry Brendan at the end of the season. However, after making it to the final three, Brendan eliminated himself from the competition after realizing that he wasn't ready for marriage after all. Tayshia ultimately got engaged to Zac Clark, who she is still with.

During an interview on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, which is hosted by former The Bachelorette leads Rachel Lindsay and Becca Kufrin, Brendan explained that he will not be returning to The Bachelor. He was adamant that he has no plans to be the next Bachelor or to be featured on Bachelor In Paradise. "I don't know if I would ever accept that role," he said, after asking whether he would be the next The Bachelor lead. "I would be grateful for the potential opportunity. But I don't think I would accept that," he continued. Brendan still doesn't feel he's ready for marriage, and also expressed that he would have to discuss the matter with his family and put a lot of thought into it. He suggested that runner-up Ben Smith would be a better choice for the next Bachelor. "I'm not here to be the Bachelor. That's probably Ben's job next time around," he told Rachel and Becca. Ben's motives on The Bachelorette have been questioned because fans think he was simply campaigning to be the next Bachelor, so his chances may not be as good as Brendan may think.

Nonetheless, Brendan also shot down the idea of appearing on the next season of Bachelor In ParadiseAll things considered, Brendan said that he didn't go on The Bachelorette with any intention of appearing on another show or season. "As I sit here, I don't think I'll ever do this again," he said, "As amazing as this was and as grateful as I am for this experience, I was like... I'm going to see if this works for me." Brendan clearly thinks the process of the show doesn't work for him, as it doesn't for most people. The speed of the show is certainly difficult to handle and make things work out in the future.

Brendan will leave many fans disappointed that he won't be on The Bachelor again anytime soon. Luckily, we still have his modeling photos on Instagram to keep up with.
