The Bachelorette alum Blake Moynes is letting fans know what he's looking forward to in 2022 following his breakup with Katie Thurston. Blake is no stranger to The Bachelor franchise; he started off vying for both Clare Crawley and Tayshia Adams' hearts on their dual season, and then ended up engaged to Katie at the end of her run. Their breakup didn't go down smoothly, though, and Blake speculates there may have been some emotional cheating on Katie's end. Katie is now dating John Hersey, another contestant on her season that was eliminated early. Katie and John cultivated a strong friendship while she was engaged to Blake. While Katie claims that nothing romantic happened with John until she and Blake ended things, Blake wonders if Katie was seeking something emotionally that he couldn't provide. He doesn't believe Katie cheated physically, though.
Even though Blake didn't find love in the two seasons of The Bachelorette he appeared on, some fans think he could be the next Bachelor. Clayton Echard from Michelle Young's season is slated to lead the next season, but it's possible Blake could be chosen to star after Clayton. Rumors began swirling after entertainment gossip account Deuxmoi posted an anonymous tip that the next Bachelor will be someone with a large personality, who just went through a breakup and lives in Canada. All signs seem to point to Blake, but anonymous tips should always be taken with a grain of salt. The Bachelor franchise has been breaking the mold of choosing a contestant from the previous season to lead lately, so Blake, or really anyone from the franchise, could be tapped to go next.
Blake took to Instagram to share a post ringing in the new year following his split with Katie. "Not going to the extent of saying 'new year, new me,'" Blake wrote. "More a 'same me, but with new chances, feels & starts.'" The caption accompanied a carousel of photos of Blake posing shirtless and trying on a pair of glasses. "So…on or off?" Blake asked his followers which look they preferred at the end of his post. He also said he was "thankful" for all the "lessons" he learned this past year, and that he's hoping everyone has a great 2022. "It’s going to be a really good one. I can feel it." A few guys from Katie's season, including Brendan Scanzano, Christian Smith and Connor Brennan, all commented their support under Blake's post.
As for how Katie's year has been going, she recently celebrated John's December birthday. The former Bachelorette posted a tribute to John on Instagram. She shared a sweet picture of the two smiling at each other while sitting on the couch, with Katie's legs swung over John. She praised him in the caption, and it seems like they're very happy together. Like on Blake's post, other Bachelor Nation members commented their support and birthday wishes on Katie's post. Anna Redman, who competed on Matt James' season with Katie, was one of the people who commented.
Even though Blake's Bachelorette journey didn't pan out, there are always more chances for members of Bachelor Nation to find love. If he doesn't end up being The Bachelor at some point, he could very well take a turn on Bachelor in Paradise. Either way, hopefully, he'll have a great 2022.
