This week, Bachelor Nation fans have been trying to understand why The Bachelorette star Becca Kufrin unfollowed Katie Thurston on Instagram. Becca's journey in The Bachelor franchise has been years in the making. It all started in 2018 when she won Arie Luyendyk Jr.'s season of The Bachelor but was dropped by him for runner-up Lauren Burnham. She then led her own season of The Bachelorette, where she met and got engaged to Garrett Yrigoyen.

Many years later, fans would fall in love with Katie Thurston after she made a huge splash on Matt James' season of The Bachelor. She then got to lead her own season of The Bachelorette in 2021, where she would meet contestant Thomas Jacobs. After not finding love with Katie, Thomas was cast on Bachelor In Paradise season 7 and crossed paths with Becca Kufrin at the beach. After the show, Becca and Thomas started to date officially.

Since eliminating Thomas from her season of The Bachelorette, Katie has come out on social media and in the press a few times to criticize him. Things escalated to a new height when Katie issued a direct warning to the women on Bachelor In Paradise about Thomas being a "smooth talker" and how they needed to "watch out" for him. Despite hearing Katie's comments and still falling for Thomas on BIP, Becca kept following Katie up until this week. That's because, this week, Katie started an Instagram project known as "12 Days of Messy" where she pairs up her men from The Bachelorette with Taylor Swift songs. It seems like Katie's latest shade-throwing at Thomas was the last straw for Becca.

Fans have also been taking notice that while Katie keeps her "12 Days of Messy" going, Becca and Thomas' Instagram feeds are nothing but sweet posts from the new couple. Some see this as Katie being unnecessarily messy while Becca and Thomas are just trying to live their lives and enjoy their new relationship. As a result, certain fans appear to be siding with Becca and support that she unfollowed Katie to avoid seeing all this messiness. With that said, Thomas did get called out by Bachelor Nation during Katie's season of The Bachelorette, so one can also understand where Katie's criticism of him is coming from.

It's a shame that The Bachelorette leads Becca and Katie now have a strained relationship. However, it's understandable why Becca has chosen to stop seeing Katie's new posts about Thomas. They are right in the honeymoon phase of their relationship, so Katie's comments probably really bothered Becca.
