Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum, who met on Ashley's season of The Bachelorette, have announced they are getting a divorce after eight years of marriage.

J.P was a contestant on Ashley's season, where he won her final rose. The couple were engaged by the end and followed through with their marriage in late 2012, just over a year after their engagement. Ashley and J.P seemed to have a wonderful marriage, even welcoming two children during their eight years together. Ashley was there for her husband when he was diagnosed with Guillain Barre syndrome, a rare neurological disorder where the immune system attacks the nervous system. He was unable to perform simple tasks, as he was left temporarily paralyzed. J.P is doing much better and was lucky to have Ashley by his side. Now, however, it seems the couple has decided to go their separate ways.

On October 14, Bachelor franchise alums Ashley and J.P announced they are getting divorced. The couple announced their split on their Instagram accounts, both sharing similar statements with the same image. Ashley wrote in her Instagram caption that she and J.P had actually been separated for months before they announced their divorce. "It is with a heavy heart that I share with you that, after months of separation, Jp and I have amicably decided to go our separate ways...Our differences have taken a toll on our relationship and after years of attempting to repair the damage, we’ve decided that it is in our family’s best interest to create new and separate lives for our children," the former reality star explained in her post. She concluded the message by asking fans to respect their privacy as they figure out how to navigate their new family life. You can see Ashley's statement in full in the Instagram post below:

J.P mentioned in his Instagram post that he realizes the announcement may come as a shock to their fans. "While I realize that this will come as a complete shock to everyone, I can assure you that this is something that has been developing in our relationship for quite a while... please know that there is no one to blame, that there’s no event that triggered this decision... we’ve done absolutely everything we possibly can to try to salvage this marriage," he shared to his fans. J.P went on to explain that the couple has very different personalities and perspectives on the world that started the rift in their marriage. They attempted to repair the damage, but unfortunately, it was irreparable. These differences weighed heavily on their marriage and they felt it was time to call it quits in order to keep their family happy and stable. He added that he is now focusing on co-parenting with Ashley, as their children are their number one priority.

Ashley and J.P feel like their differences have caused a gap in their marriage and want to prioritize their kids' health and well being before all else.
