Juan Pablo Galavis from The Bachelor was born in Ithaca, New York and he is a Venezuelan American. He is known for being a retired professional soccer midfielder and the first Latino star of the ABC-TV reality show, The Bachelor. He starred in The Bachelor season 18, which premiered in 2014. Since then, he has mostly stayed far away from the reality TV world. Here is more about his background and the ups and downs he has had since 2014.

The Bachelor's Juan Pablo Galavis is currently 39. He was born on August 5, 1991, which makes him a Leo. He readily admits to his love of soccer, but the New York-born athlete is also known for not saying the L-word... or proposing to Nikki Ferrell at the end of the season. It all started back in 2013 when fans were introduced to Juan on The Bachelorette season starring Desiree Hartsock. After that, ABC picked him to be The Bachelor season 18's leading man. During the show, he was called out by fantasy suite date Andi Dorfman for not trying. Andi disliked that Juan insisted things were "OK" between them, and she responded to him with, "I left behind family and friends, a job. I missed a wedding and things. I did that all willingly. I put myself out there. It's not OK. You saying it's OK comes off as you not having feelings." She describes Juan in her first book as "honest to the point of offensive, entitled to the point of elitism, and pompous to the point of disgust." The soccer player is also known for other controversies within the world of The Bachelor, one of them is related to Clare Crowley. He supposedly told her that he didn't love her but enjoyed getting intimate with her. Towards the end of the season, the 39-year-old picked pediatric nurse Nikki. However, due to the lack of proposal and acceptance of love, the relationship ended in October 2014.
