Vanessa Grimaldi is engaged…again. But this time she's not planning a future with anyone from The Bachelor. The Bachelor alum announced her engagement to Canadian businessman Josh Wolfe via Instagram on August 9th.

The special education teacher from Quebec rose to reality TV fame when she appeared on season 21 of The Bachelor in 2017, where she was ultimately given the final rose from Nick Viall. Vanessa was a fan favorite on the show, and Bachelor Nation revered her as the woman who finally gave Nick, the three-time Bachelor contestant, his happily ever after. But the pair’s engagement was off to a rocky start from the beginning, which led to their split less than six months after the televised proposal. Nick has since detailed the issues surrounding their relationship, one being location. Vanessa was adamant about being close to her large family and wanted to remain in Canada, whereas Nick was reveling in the new opportunities that came from being the Bachelor, including a stint on Dancing with the Stars, which caused the pair to spend crucial time apart. The ex-couple appeared to have two different points of view when it came to the mechanics of the relationship and joined the ranks of failed Bachelor relationships

Although things didn't work out for Nick and Vanessa, Vanessa is now engaged to Josh Wolfe. The businessman slid into her DM’s on Instagram a year and a half ago, and the pair have been dating ever since. In an interview with People, the couple detailed the proposal and their excitement for the wedding to come. Vanessa said that Wolfe proposed on top of the Saint Louis gate in what was, “an intimate, beautiful moment that was candle-lit.” She also revealed that “an accordion player performed songs, including ‘A Whole New World’ from Aladdin.” Take a look at the moment for yourself in the sweet Instagram post below:

Vanessa went on to share her love for her new fiancé, saying, “I feel at home whenever I am with Josh. His love and affection for his family is something I’ve always admired about him and what I’ve always looked for in a partner.”  She also went on to explain how important it was for her to find a man that values family as much as she does, “I love how much he values family and that he loves spending quality time all together. That is how we both were raised and one of the many reasons I grew a strong connection with him from the beginning.”  Apparently Wolfe felt the same connection to family, saying, “It was then that I realized just how important family was to her, as it is to me. I felt so welcomed, and just grateful at the idea that they may one day become my extended family.” The couple is now looking forward to their engagement party, which will be held at a Lebanese restaurant, Garage Beirut. A portion of the bill will be donated to support the rebuilding efforts in Beirut.

While the couple isn’t planning a wedding any time soon due to the pandemic, Vanessa already has a small intimate wedding on her mind, “Younger Vanessa would have wanted a typical Italian wedding: big and lots of guests.” But now she’s picturing something different: "I envision something small, simple and intimate with my closest friends and family.” It looks like things are working out exactly as they should for the couple. Although their wedding won’t be broadcasted for The Bachelor audience, Vanessa is sure to share snapshots of her road to her happily ever after.
