If Tyler Cameron were announced as the next lead of The Bachelor, women would no doubt apply for the show in record numbers, but he's not sure he's ready for that role just yet. Cameron has a lot of plans in his immediate future, and being The Bachelor isn't top of the list at the moment.
Surrounded by the lies of Jed Wyatt and the delusional misogyny of Luke Parker, Cameron was a beacon of hope to women everywhere that there are still good guys out there. Brown didn't fully realize this during taping, but eventually she circled back to Cameron After The Final Rose. She asked him out, not for a helicopter ride or a bout of naked bungee jumping or even horseback riding; just for a drink. Cameron said yes, but since then, both he and Brown have been open about not rushing into a serious relationship right away. In other words, they plan to take things at a pace indicative of any relationship that occurs outside the sphere of The Bachelorette. But with Cameron living in New York and Brown recently relocated to Los Angeles - and Cameron's experience of being rejected by Brown once before - many fans are either hoping or expecting their second go at it to end in friendship. That would open the door to Cameron being in serious consideration to become The Bachelor.
On a recent episode of the Viall Files podcast hosted by former Bachelor Nick Viall, Cameron said, "It's a great opportunity, but it comes with a lot of responsibility." Prospective contestants who fawned over Cameron this past season would argue it's a responsibility he's best suited to handle, but he said, "I don't know, I'm all over the map about that one." Cameron told Viall he's currently focused on his job with ABC Food Tours and starting a nonprofit.
In addressing other potential candidates for The Bachelor, Cameron didn't single out any one guy, stating the show "can't go wrong" with just about any man from Brown's season. The popular names that have been brought up alongside Cameron are Peter Weber and Mike Johnson.
The case for Cameron as the next frontman of The Bachelor is obvious. He's championed Brown every step of her empowering journey and would likely choose women based on the quality of their character rather than simply proposing to the woman he is most physically attracted to. The downside is that his logical paring down of contestants who don't have the best intentions might not make for the best television. Another potential pitfall with casting Cameron in this role is that his public image is at its absolute peak right now. The more Cameron allows the audience into his life, the more chance there is for fans to learn something about him that they don't like. That being said, Cameron may actually be a perfect human being.
