Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici opened up the difficulties they faced in the early days of their relationship after appearing on The Bachelor season 17. Bachelor Nation was introduced to Sean Lowe on Emily Maynard's season of The Bachelorette. Sean got third place during that cycle, but the fans certainly loved him the most out of that cast. Unsurprisingly, producers were quick to cast Sean as the lead of his own The Bachelor season in 2013. Sean's season is hailed by many fans as one of the best-ever years for the show.

It was during Sean Lowe's season of The Bachelor that he met Catherine Giudici, who at the time was a 26-year-old graphic designer from Seattle, Washington. These two hit it off right away, and the season ended with Sean on one knee proposing to Catherine. The viewers were happy to see them together during the After The Final Rose special. As of 2021, Catherine and Sean are the only couple from the main The Bachelor series to still be together.

Catherine and Sean Lowe are still together many years after The Bachelor, but they recently admitted that they faced relationship problems at the beginning of their marriage once their season came to an end. As reported by People, Sean said that he and Catherine went through "growing pains" when they first tied the knot. "There was a bit of pressure because we did a lot of public appearances and things like that," Sean added, "and you have to put on a brave face, even though maybe 30 minutes prior we just got into an ugly spat at home."

It is not surprising at all that newlyweds faced a few issues when adjusting to their married life, but considering that Sean and Catherine are the poster couple for The Bachelor, this revelation will still surprise certain fans within Bachelor Nation. With that said, Sean also made it clear that those relationship woes are in the past for them: "Those rocky times that we experienced the first year or two, thankfully we don't experience that too often anymore." Sean and Catherine got married in 2014, so they will be celebrating their seven-year anniversary in 2021. They have three children together: Samuel Thomas, Isaiah Hendrix, and Mia Mejia.

While it is true that The Bachelor is an escapist fantasy for many viewers, it is actually a great thing for such a picture-perfect couple to get candid about their real day-to-day issues. One can hope that this will inspire other couples to work through their differences when the times get tough.
