The long-awaited new season of Bachelor In Paradise is finally here. Season 7 premiered on August 16 following a two-year hiatus after producers postponed the show last year due to the  COVID-19 pandemic. While fans certainly missed the show in 2020, the extended time between seasons left production with plenty of people to bring to paradise.

This season of BIP will also give fans a taste of the lush locales typically associated with the franchise before the pandemic forced producers to limit filming to one location for the past few seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. The beautiful beaches on the premiere episode were a stark contrast to the New Mexico desert from Katie Thurston's Bachelorette season.

Now, Bachelor Nation contestants will entertain fans with a summer of love, drama, and lots of crabs. With a new season underway, fans want to know more about when and where the show was filmed.

When Was The Show Filmed?

Filming for BIP took place in June 2021, and the season wrapped three weeks later. According to Distractify, initial reports indicate that at least seven episodes this season will air on Mondays and Tuesdays, starting the week of August 23. Fans may get more than seven episodes, however. The new season of The Bachelorette, with Michelle Young as the lead, doesn't premiere until October 19, and Dancing With The Stars (which will take the Monday night timeslot) doesn't premiere until September 20.

BIP was filmed at the Playa Escondida resort in Sayulita, Mexico. All the previous seasons were filmed at the same resort except for the first season, which took place in Tulum. The resort's website encourages potential guests to relax and reconnect to nature while at the secluded retreat. Guests who stay at the resort have many different room options to choose from, such as the Luna Penthouse, which features a king-sized canopy bed, a jacuzzi, and an open-air ocean-view shower. Other highlights of the resort include a spa, a poolside restaurant, and a yoga platform.

What Else Can Fans Expect From This Season?

Fans can expect another drama-filled season of BIP this summer. New fan favorites, including Kelsey Weier from Peter Weber's season and Ivan Hall from Clare Crawley and Tayshia Adams' season, are just a few of the cast members in paradise this summer. Also joining the newcomers are several familiar faces from past BIP seasons. Joe Amabile is back, hoping to find love after his breakup with Kendall Long. Of course, producers like to stir up as much drama as possible for audiences, so Kendall will also be back, opening up the possibility of the exes rekindling their love.

Besides new contestants, multiple celebrity hosts will also replace Chris Harrison after his departure earlier this year. David Spade hosted the premiere episode, and fans can also expect to see Lil Jon, Tituss Burgess, and Lance Bass. Resident bartender Wells Adams will also be back at the beach, this time in an expanded role that will preside over the rose ceremonies and host one of the later episodes. With all the new hosts and cast members taking part in Bachelor In Paradise, this season promises to be one of the best ones yet!
