After The Bachelorette season 18 runner-up Brandon Jones and The Bachelor season 26 final 4 contestant Serene Russell left their seasons, Bachelor Nation began to wonder if they would be a match made in Heaven, and now a new promo teases a potential romance between them on Bachelor in Paradise season 8. Brandon first stole hearts on Michelle Young's season and fell deeply in love with her. She loved him too but ultimately got engaged to Nayte Olukoya, breaking Brandon's heart.
Serene first appeared on Clayton Echard's season, and she made it to hometown dates before he broke up with her. Although Serene was confused and heartbroken, she managed to avoid what host Jesse Palmer nicknamed the "Rose Ceremony from Hell" which featured Clayton telling Rachel Recchia and Gabby Windey that he had been intimate with both of them and that he had told them and Susie Evans that he loved them. Clayton ultimately chose Susie, but they did not get engaged. However, since their seasons ended, both Michelle and Nayte and Clayton and Susie have broken up.
Now, in a new preview for Bachelor in Paradise season 8 shared by EW, romance seems to be blossoming between Brandon and Serene. The clip begins with Serene speaking in her confessional saying, "I really wanna see Brandon from Michelle's season. I mean, if Brandon doesn't come down the stairs today, I will be a little disappointed." Serene is then shown lounging on the beach with her fellow Bachelor season 26 stars Teddi Wright and Genevieve Parisi. Brandon jumps down the steps saying, "What it do?!" and dancing. The women scream with delight at his entrance, and Serene says with a laugh, "I'm not breathing." In Brandon's confessional he states, "Serene is absolutely insanely beautiful, so I wanna pull her away. Have a nice little talk with her."
In the next scene of the Bachelor in Paradise season 8 promo, Brandon and Serene are talking alone. He tells her, "I'm excited to meet you." Serene replies, "I'm excited too. Like I feel like I don't know anything about you though." Brandon says, "Then ask away. What do you want to know? I'm an open book." Serene asks him what he does, and he answers that he is a personal trainer, to which she replies, "I can tell." Serene laughs as Brandon admits, "Sorry, I'm nervous as hell to talk to you right now." The clip then cuts to some of the women who are watching Brandon and Serene from a nearby daybed. Teddi and Genevieve gush about how Serene looks like she is already in love and cannot stop smiling. Lace Morris, who returns to Paradise after getting engaged to Grant Kemp in season 3, says, "We might start seeing them make out in, like, a minute. Like, look at them." The clip ends with Brandon and Serene laughing with each other.
Brandon and Serene were two of the sweetest and most genuine contestants on their seasons. Bachelor Nation was genuinely rooting for them to find true love. After weeks of promos for Bachelor in Paradise season 8 that featured drama, fighting, and crying, it is refreshing to see a couple who seems to have what it takes to begin a real relationship. Perhaps Brandon and Serene will get that second chance at lasting love on Bachelor in Paradise.
