It seems the higher-ups who work on The Bachelor are hoping Peter Weber will make a return to the franchise on the next season of Bachelor In Paradise. The rumors of Peter's return to reality TV come after news broke of his recent split from girlfriend Kelley Flanagan.

Peter made his debut on the reality TV franchise on Hannah Brown's season of The Bachelorette. He made it all the way to the final three before being let go by Hannah at the rose ceremony. He later went on to be The Bachelor, where he got engaged to Hannah Ann Sluss, but broke off the engagement a month later to pursue his runner-up, Madison Prewett. Their relationship did not work out either and Peter went on to date Kelley, who came in fourth on his season, for eight months. The couple recently broke up due to being in "different stages of life."

During an episode of SiriusXM’s The Bachelor Recap on Tuesday, host Julia Cunningham sat down with ABC executive Robert Mills and spoke about Peter and Kelley's recent split, reported Us Weekly.  She even suggested that Peter join the cast of BIP this year. “Oh, that’s interesting. Wow, I love that idea! Absolutely, yeah,” Robert said in response. "I like the idea of Peter in Paradise.” The host added that she thinks Peter is a "hot commodity" on BIP now that he is single. She even suggested the series bring Peter, plus the women from his season for an even more entertaining season of Paradise. Robert added that their list of stars is overstocked at this point after they were unable to film BIP this summer due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

In November 2020, Chris Harrison spoke with the publication about BIP and how season seven will be happening soon. "We are going to have multiple seasons, it’s going to be a murderers’ row of choices of people,” he said. “There’s going to be people left on the bench that we love just because you can only have so many people on that beach. And right now, the plan is we’re moving forward.” It looks like Peter may be joining other past contestants down in Mexico in the near future.

Peter and Kelley broke up on New Year's Eve after over eight months of dating. The pilot announced the split on Instagram, admitting the relationship "simply didn’t work out in the end." Four days later, Kelley shared her statement to the social media platform, adding that the couple were in two different stages in life and saw themselves on different paths. A source revealed Peter was the one to end it and Kelley was taken aback by it. The breakup was tough for both of them, but they seem to agree this decision was for the best in the long run. Now that Peter is single and may appear on the next season of BIP, who will he try to form a relationship with? Fans will have to wait and see once the season begins to film.
